[Bug 1378638] [NEW] gedit 'Gtk-WARNING' after saving changes and closing its GUI window

2014-10-08 Thread KasiyA
Public bug reported:

When I open a file to editing by using 'gksudo gedit /path/to/file' and
after saving changes, right after closing its GUI window, stops with
this warning.

(gedit:3249): Gtk-WARNING **: Calling Inhibit failed:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name
org.gnome.SessionManager
was not provided by any .service files

This warning repeats for each line if I edited. If I change/edit just a
single line in opened file then the warning just repeat one time and if
I change/edit for example N lines then the warning repeats for N times.

[Bug 1353951] Re: gnome online accounts require autentication on startup

2014-10-08 Thread yazid
I've noticed that the bug appears only when Evolution is running. That's
why some days I don't see the bug (because in that days I open
Evolution, read the mails and then I close the program, while the other
days I keep Evolution running all day). I don't use other mail clients.
Maybe the other people affected by this bug use other mail clients so
they don't have the bug anymore after the fix was released. Maybe some
Evolution code need to be fixed too.

[Bug 1292398] Re: Second screen position isn't saved from one session to another

2014-10-08 Thread Alfredo Tschamler
Same problem here. Ubuntu 14.04. GNOME Shell 3.10.4. All the issue started when
I switch from unity to gnome-shell. I hadn't this problem with unity. The
workaround gnome-settings-daemon --replace or update-monitor-position -
(http://bernaerts.dyndns.org/linux/74-ubuntu/309-ubuntu-dual-display-monitor-position-lost)

work for me, but these workaround cause that the lock screen shield get blank
(blue screen with the hour), and that is very annoying!

packages don't have this problem, so we can't help you I'm afraid.

This transition isn't in Ubuntu. You're talking about

  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-desktop3/+bug/1377847

most likely, which will be uploaded in the next day.

[Bug 1378982] [NEW] A strange screeching sound is heard randomly

2014-10-08 Thread ciryon
Public bug reported:

Hello

I use Ubuntu 14.04 64 bits and Rhythmbox 3.0.2.

When I listen to music file whether they are mp3, ogg or any other
format, the application make a strange noise during playback, it's a
noise which looks like reading a music CD with computer data track. It
happens randomly on several tracks, it can happen on one track and if
read again not and vice-versa. I have tested the same music files on VLC
and SMPLAYER and did not get the same issues.

[Bug 976304] Re: On dual monitor setup, lock screen password prompt doesn't always appear on same monitor.

2014-10-08 Thread Damir Butmir
100% confirmed, although slightly varied in my case

I no longer get the login password prompt on BOTH my monitors. Only on
my primary one (laptop) and not on my external Samsung monitor. Before,
I would get the password prompt on both, log in, and Ubuntu would
correctly remember that I want my laptop screen disabled and picture
only shown on my external monitor. Now, at the LightDM login screen, I
get a weird rendered purple screen that only even completes rendering
(refreshes and displays correctly) when I move my mouse within my
external monitor. And even then, it just shows the default wallpaper
with an Ubuntu icon in the background and NO password prompt.

[Bug 1132700] Re: gnome-terminal = 3.7 requires sourcing of vte.sh login script

2014-10-08 Thread Egmont Koblinger
Looking at http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/b/bash/, it seems
that up to bash_3.2-0 (which was shipped by Hardy 08.04 LTS) bash's
/etc/skel/.bashrc defined
PROMPT_COMMAND='echo -ne \033]0;${USER}@${HOSTNAME}: ${PWD/$HOME/~}\007'

Beginning with bash_3.2-4 (Intrepid 08.10) PROMPT_COMMAND is no longer
present in files shipped by bash under /etc/skel.

[Bug 1368647] Re: GPS and location detection not working on Nexus 4

2014-10-08 Thread Johannes
I've played around a bit and got it working acceptably here... (I've switched
to the rtm image some time but I think that's not the point...)
It seems like the location service is intentionally started without gps
support. See ps -eaf | grep location and
/etc/init/ubuntu-location-service.override. But deleting the .override file did
not seem to be sufficient. It works for me if I let upstart start the location
service with gps::Provider as the only provider... (exec
/usr/bin/ubuntu-location-serviced --bus system --provider gps::Provider).

[Bug 965921] Re: gnome-shell most keyboard shortcuts not working

2014-10-08 Thread John Franklin
This thread/bug is over two years old! Isn't it time to move the
priority (Importance) from low to medium or high?
