[Bug 1385061] [NEW] Cannot map Alt-k

2014-10-24 Thread Collin Richards
Public bug reported:

I am unable to map anything to Alt-k from the keyboard shortcut menu.
May have something to do with the feature that holding alt puts you in a
context where you can select checkboxes and buttons by pressing another
key. However I can map Alt-j and there are no issues. I do not have
Alt-k mapped any where else in gnome or Ubuntu.

I was able to work around the issue by editting the gconf settings file,
however this should be fixed.

I am also using Ubuntu Gnome.

[Bug 484529] Re: When trying to play a track the error message Couldn't start playback, and Cannot resolve proxy host name appears

2014-10-24 Thread Pavel Malyshev
Whenever I enable automatic proxy configuration in Gnome Settings providing a
link to wpad.dat, Rhythmbox fails to connect to external resources. It says it
cannot resolve target hostnames. Other applications like firefox work fine.
For example Last.FM plugin says: Cannot resolve hostname (turtle.libre.fm)
If I switch proxy mode to manual and configure proxy's hostname and port
Rhythmbox work fine.
Unfortunately manual mode is not applicable for me, as there is no way to
configure no-proxy exceptions
I believe the bug is still there

[Bug 880626] Re: eog should consider menubar size when creating windows to avoid scaling

2014-10-24 Thread Arnaud Thevenet
Hi all,

This bug is still there. Any image smaller than the desktop should open with
1:1 scaling (no scaling), but all images are just scaled by a little when
opened, even if no scroll bar is displayed...
It is no very serious, but just a pity.

Eactly 3 years after this bug was opened, could we have a little update,
or a little fixing? Thanks!

[Bug 1241101] Re: Java crash in libglib-2.0 after upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10

2014-10-24 Thread Lukasz Skalski
Hi Simeone,

Your problem with Modelio and removing non-existent sources:

(Modelio 3:10699): GLib-CRITICAL **: Source ID 20104 was not found when
attempting to remove it

is connected with some changes in GLib library. GLib 2.40.0 introduced
the following change:

[..] g_source_remove() will now throw a critical in the case that you
try to remove a non-existent source. We expect that there is some code
in the wild that will fall afoul of this new critical but considering
that we now reuse source IDs, this code is already broken and should
probably be fixed.

[Bug 1385282] [NEW] Impossible to use smart cards because initialization of system NSS database fails

2014-10-24 Thread Vasil Badev
Public bug reported:

On startup evolution tries to merge system NSS database (/etc/pki/nssdb) and
user NSS database (~/.pki/nssdb), but this fails with following message:
(evolution:8009): camel-WARNING **: Failed to initialize NSS SQL database in
sql:/etc/pki/nssdb: NSS error -8126
Тherefore initialization of NSS fails and certificates on registered smart
cards are unavailable in Evolution. This makes signing e-mail with certificate
on smart card impossible.

It seems that root of the problem is the line library=libnsssysinit.so
in /etc/pki/nssdb/pkcs11.txt. If libnsssysinit.so is removed from this
line, system database can be correctly initialized and certificates from
smart cards are available. Google-chrome successfully loads NSS
database, so it seems that this is specific to evolution problem, and
not NSS bug.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1385321] [NEW] memory and file descriptor leak in empathy

2014-10-24 Thread Leonid Evdokimov
Public bug reported:

empathy process takes almost 1G of RSS memory, that's way too much and
looks like leak as soon as RSS grows over time.

Another symptom is lots of duplicate open files,

[Bug 1131664] Re: The default apps should have standard menubars under Unity

2014-10-24 Thread Khurshid Alam
On Utopic these patches doesn't seem to work on other desktop session
(which also uses indicator-appmenu), i.e. gnome-flashback.

If I install indicator-applet-appmenu add it to gnome-panel, I have
noticed that most of the default apps doesn't export/move menubar to
panel properly.

Apps that does NOT move menubar to panel:

1. nautilus

2. gnome-terminal (only shows fileclose)

3. gedit

4. file-roller (complete mess: export header-bar menus but also shows
menus on the window a single dropdown menu screenshot:
http://i.imgur.com/XDVD9Ei.png)

5. eog

6. totem

7. mines ( a very big size menu remains on the window screenshot:
http://i.imgur.com/ZD0xma0.png )

8. shotwell

9. transmission

Apps that does move menubar properly to the panel

1. evince
2. rhythmbox
3. disks
4. system-monitor
5. system-log (uses headerbar)

 non-gtk apps:
5. Firefox, Chromium

Non-default apps:
6. Geary, California (Not directly patched by Ubuntu)

From the changelog:

gnome-panel (3.8.1-2) unstable; urgency=medium

find the org.gnome.evolution.calendar gsettings schema.

[Bug 1381232] Re: Utopic version of gnome-panel depends on evolution-common

2014-10-24 Thread Alberts Muktupāvels
Don't do that!

Then we will get new bugs - clock applet crashing. As this applet is
installed by default and it requires that schema then gnome-panel should
depend on evolution-common event it is not used by default.

If these extra packages are real problem then I would suggest to move
clock applet to separate debian pacakge - gnome-panel-clock and make it
depend on evolution-common. Then add gnome-panel-clock as Recommends for
gnome-panel so it is installed by default, but will allow to be removed
if someone will want that. (If you are going to move clock to separate
package then you do it with other applets to gnome-panel-clock, gnome-
panel-fish, gnome-panel-wnck, gnome-panel-notification-area)

If applet/applets is not going to be moved to separate debian package
then I would say this bug should be closed as invalid.

[Bug 1381232] Re: Utopic version of gnome-panel depends on evolution-common

2014-10-24 Thread Erick Brunzell
What changed between Trusty and Utopic to cause the clock to crash? I
have 'gnome-panel' running in multiple Precise and Trusty machines using
'indicator-applet' and gnome-panel-clock rather than using 'indicator-
applet-complete' and I've never had the clock applet crash in Trusty or
Precise.

If it must stay this way it's not a huge deal because the work around(s)
are fairly simple. I say multiple because the first assumes the user
already installed 'gnome-panel' including all of 'evolution*' in which
case the user can just purge all the unwanted 'evolution*' packages
except 'evolution-common'. The second is simply to install 'evolution-
common' using the --no-install-recommends option before installing
'gnome-panel'.

I originally suspected that Edubuntu was going to release a Utopic
version so they'd have to presumably rebuild in such a manner as to not
ship both thunderbird and evolution but I now understand that Edubuntu
may be releasing only LTS builds going forward so they'd have time to
sort that out before 16.04 lands in the distant future.

If you plan on not fixing this I'd prefer you mark it Won't fix rather
than Invalid. Like I said I've never had the clock crash w/o evolution
installed, is there a bug report regarding such a crash?
