[Bug 969359] Re: [keyboard]: gnome-settings-daemon consumes 100% cpu (and blinking numlock)
I am on 14.04 LTS and using Gnome. I encountered severe and frequent high CPU consumption caused by gnome-settings-daemon process. I then deleted /usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon-3.0/keyboard.gnome-settings- plugin. I also applied the num lock fix as explained in #107. I noticed improved (less frequent) gnome-settings-daemon hangs, but still experienced them enough to be a big irritant. I then started performing traces. and noticed many failures in trying to open /var/cache/fontconfig. I then googled what could be causing that. I then came across this page: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=612105 I then applied (as suggested on that page) restorecon -R '/var/cache/fontconfig' That seems to have done the trick. Everything is quiet now. I will post again if I experience any further problems. [Bug 1399863] [NEW] prevent disappearance of other filesystems of the same device when removed safely/ejected
Public bug reported: When a filesystem is securely unmounted/ejected in `nautilus` all its other filesystems unmounted as well and the device disappears from the list, making it necessary to disconnect and reconnect the device or it is simply unmounted and the device stays in the list of external device, making it possible to mount the filesystem again. Both behaviors are useful. The former allows quick/one click removal of a device no matter how many filesystems are on the device. The latter avoids annoying necessity to reconnect the unmounted the devices in order to be recognized. Therefore a setting for each filesystem should be provided allowing one of the following behaviors: * unmount all filesystems of the device when one is unmounted * unmount the filesystem * specify a list of filesystems which ought to be unmounted when the filesystem is unmounted There should be an extra function (button or menu entry) which allows to recreate the list of device in order to avoid having them un- und replugged again. experienced with 3.10.1 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10 Package: nautilus 1:3.10.1-0ubuntu15 Uname: Linux 3.17.4-031704-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: zfs zunicode zcommon znvpair zavl ApportVersion: 2.14.7-0ubuntu8 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Sat Dec 6 05:22:45 2014 GsettingsChanges: b'org.gnome.nautilus.list-view' b'default-column-order' b['name', 'size', 'type', 'date_modified', 'date_accessed', 'owner', 'group', 'permissions', 'mime_type', 'where'] SourcePackage: nautilus UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug utopic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1399863 Title: prevent disappearance of other filesystems of the same device when removed safely/ejected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1399863/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1399865] [NEW] unmount blocking condition not recognized in warning dialog (automatic closing fails)
Public bug reported: When unmounting isn't possible due to a blocking condition (usually an open file), nautilus displays a warning dialog listing the conditions/applications which have open files under the mount path. When the files are closed, nautilus doesn't recognize that and keeps displaying the dialog while in the background the unmounting takes place and one has to select `Abort` or `Unmount nevertheless` in order to close the dialog. In case it is intended to not simply let a dialog disappear because it might be bad user feedback the content of the dialog should change explaining what just happened (that there's been a blocking condition which has in the meantime be resolved and that the dialog can be closed without any effect). Of course there then needs to be an option which allows control over whether the dialog's content's changed or whether it disappears. Steps to reproduce: * Mount an USB connected or another external device, open a terminal and change the directory to the mount point (usually `/media/$USER/uuid of filesystem`) * press the `eject` button for the filesystem; a warning is displayed that applications are still using the device and list contains `gnome-terminal` or `Terminal`) * type `cd` in the terminal and see how the unmounting takes place in the file view of `nautilus`, but the dialog persists experienced with 3.10.1; worked like a charm with a previous unknown version. [Bug 1247366] Re: Evolution is missing bogofilter integration
I too would like to have bogofilter returned as a filter option. I have been using it for years and it is, at this point, well trained for me. Having to retrain spam-assassin is a pain. Spam-Assassin is also is a much slower. Please, please, please re-add Bogofilter to the package so I stop having to build my own version every time I do an update of packages on my Linux Mint (Ubuntu based) system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1247366 Title: Evolution is missing bogofilter integration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/1247366/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
