[Bug 1419168] [NEW] Creating a hidden directory let temporarly a directory named New Directory

2015-02-06 Thread gael
Public bug reported:

I have created a new directory named .env in my home, with right-click New
Directory. When I pressed Enter to validate the name, the hidden directory
was... hidden (!), which is quite logic, but there was at its place a directory
named witth the default name of a new one New directory. If I refresh, all
returns to normal: New directory is no more here.

It's not a really bug, but the New Directory should not appears.

[Bug 1153488] Re: Treats bluetooth input device batteries as batteries

2015-02-06 Thread Shih-Yuan Lee
@redman,

My patch has been included in the upstream, and it is also in the Ubuntu 14.10.
It is also modified by other developers, so it has been a little different from
the one I made in Ubuntu 12.04.
I think the problem is that some rule is changed in UPower, but the mechanism
to detect Bluetooth input devices doesn't change accordingly.
So it failed.

[Bug 1390628] Re: Mouse pointer invisible after upgrade to Ubuntu 14.10

2015-02-06 Thread Cyprian Guerra
Just to expand on the issue as an Ubuntu GNOME 14.10 user: the mouse
pointer is invisible on login screen (GDM 3.14.1), in overview and when
hovering over the top bar, left dock, run dialog (alt+F2),
notifications, message try or any context menu / drop-down list these
surfaces generate (GNOME Shell 3.14.3). It does, however, display
correctly on desktop surface as well as in all other applications.

The property `active` of `gsettings set org.gnome.settings-
daemon.plugins.cursor' is indeed set to `true` but setting it to `false`
doesn't help (tried to reset, restart and finally reboot afterwards -
all to no avail).

(gst-launch-1.0:12437): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_mini_object_unref: assertion

Setting pipeline to NULL ...
Freeing pipeline ...

(For the warning to appear I pressed CTRL-C for stopping the stream.)
It seems that it is from the multipartdemux element, if I execute the command
without it the warning does not appear.

I am using Gstreamer 1.4.5.

I saw this link (which seems to describe the problem that I have) but I
couldn't use it with Gstreamer 1.0 :
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GStreamer

It is very important to me to fix this warning. Can somebody help me
with a fix?

[Bug 1419064] [NEW] Totem is outdated+vulnerable on Pangolin.

2015-02-06 Thread Penelope Fudd
Public bug reported:

In Firefox, try going to the plugin check page:

 https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck

Among other things (cough Flash cough), it says the QuickTime Plug-
in is outdated and vulnerable. The Totem 3.0.1 plugin handles
QuickTime. It gives an 'Update Now' link that goes to
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ , which is totally useless.

I see on https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem that the latest
stable release of Totem is 3.10.1-1ubuntu6. I also see that The Precise
Pangolin is a supported release, but the latest release for it is
3.0.1-0ubuntu21.1 .

Could you please find a good way to fix this situation? Backporting
3.10.1 to Pangolin seems to be one answer.

Thanks!

[Bug 1345488] Re: package gir1.2-gtk-3.0 3.10.8-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: cannot copy extracted data for './usr/lib/girepository-1.0/Gdk-3.0.typelib' to '/usr/lib/girepository-1.0/Gdk-3.0.ty

2015-02-06 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when
trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following
command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal:

sudo apt-get clean

Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your
issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory
corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a
memory test. Thanks in advance!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1409032] Re: gvfsd-smb: very high CPU utilisation

2015-02-06 Thread Martin Weis
This affects me without using a virtual machine.
There are other bugs about excessive CPU usage,. which might be related:
#369194
#1404765

Similar other bugs were filed against other protocol types (dav, http, ssh,
sftp, fuse), so these issues might be related, e.g.
#1401351
#1174663
#1404765
#1059332
#880637

How to debug this?
