[Bug 1421483] Re: All keyboard input fails: IBUS-WARNING **: Events queue growing too big

2015-02-21 Thread themusicgod1
While I try to replicate without ibus(doesn't look like it's replicating
without it), really there's 3 things going on here

1) ibus process fds are being used: you could see this as an ibus issue (though
that wasn't certain until #17)
2) firefox and arora cause the creation of fds within the ibus process which
are never cleaned up : I guess you could view that as an ibus issue, but
whether it's an ibus issue or arora/firefox issue isn't clear to me
3) chromium-browser, libreoffice, empathy, easytag and gnumeric: silently
failed on ibus failure(though in some cases there was a warning warning that
something *could*) happen.

[Bug 1100049] [NEW] Evince does not recognize CUPS printer.

2015-02-21 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Hello, I am trying to print a PDF file via wireless lexmark printer,
using Evince. The printer is properly configured as other apps such as
Firefox can print to it, it's powered on, and set as the default.
However, Evince does not seem to recognize CUPS printers as when I open
the PDF, the Print button is completely disabled (greyed out).

Closing Evince and re-opening does not resolve the issue. The print
option should be enabled as Evince should be detecting the printer I
already have configured but it is not for some reason

OS: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS x64

[Bug 1424203] [NEW] Not able to hide Network section.

2015-02-21 Thread Damir Butmir
Public bug reported:

Description = In my case at least (and probably in a majority) I have
the only Ubuntu machine on a small home network populated by other
Window machines. I have no use for this Network section (especially
since I can't access Windows based domains anyway through it) so I'd
like to hide it. If anything, for purely asthetic reasons. I have
searched at least 2-3 hours and have found NO way to disable or hide
this section unfortuntely...A code change will be required to be able
enable being able to hide/collapse it.

Steps to Reproduce:

1) Open a new instance of Nautilus

2) Observe the Network subsection at the bottom

3) Attempt to hide/collapse it as the majority of regular users don't
use it anyway

Expected Result = Should be able to hide the Network subsection or at least
collapse it (by right clicking hide for example).

Severity = UI related only.

Environment = Release 12.04 (precise) 64-bit + Kernel Linux
3.13.0-45-generic + Nautilus 3.4.2

[Bug 116290] Re: No choice of language for spell checking

I am using Tomboy 1.15.4 on Ubuntu 14.04. For some strange reason Tomboy

to check or switch the language but as this bugs attests, it is not
possible. I would prefer this feature to be outright de-activated.

[Bug 1421429] Re: [trusty] Frequently no clean shutdown or reboot

2015-02-21 Thread Bernhard
** Description changed:

  Hello,

on all of my installations of Kubuntu 14.04.x (3 PCs), frequently on a
shutdown or reboot the PC powers off or reboots without umounting the
  filesystems and terminating the processes.

There is no message like Terminating or killing all processes within x
seconds, umounting filesystems, etc, but immediately the shutdown (power off)
or reboot of the system, all via KDE. = No clean shutdown.
  (No network shares are mounted.)

Next boot the fsck is recovering the filesystem/journal, etc

This behaviour occurred after the upgrade from 12.04.x to 14.04.x ,
  this was not in 12.04.

Maybe it is a bug in upstart/systemd init scripts at reboot/shutdown.
+
+ - Reproducible with:
+ Download the iso image kubuntu-14.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso and install it, for
instance as a Virtual Machine.
+
+ There logon in KDE and use the keyboard shortcut ctl+alt+shift+pageup
+ (=Reboot) to reboot the machine several times until you can see that on
+ the reboot/shutdown process there is no clean reboot, but an immediate
+ reboot.
+
+ On the next boot you will see that fsck is recovering the journal
+ (inodes cleared/recovered), etc.
+

  Thank you for your support!

  Best regards, Bernhard

2015-02-21 Thread Florian W.
I've built (on trusty) and installed the unity-control-center package
from the PPA, and unity-settings-daemon from utopic, and now I have a
mouse pointer speed option in the settings. That setting was missing
when I used the original trusty packages.

Now another problem is that the mouse cursor is pretty fast, even when
using the slowest setting. My mouse has a hardware DPI change button
though, so I can fix that. :-)

[Bug 1132063] Re: Mouse settings missing from Mouse Touchpad dialog

2015-02-21 Thread Florian W.
Sorry, the unity-control-center package was not taken from the PPA, but
from the bzr branch linked in this bug report. Not sure if these
packages use the same code.

[Bug 1422354] Re: Show traditional titlebar when maximized with no GtkHeaderBar present

2015-02-21 Thread Simon Steinbeiß
This is strange, the new package/version indeed does not seem to fix the
problem.

I've previously tested 3.14.1 with the ubuntu patches and my own patch
on top of it and that worked fine in Xubuntu. Maybe some problem with
the patch/packaging?

[Bug 1424180] [NEW] New patch in 3.14.1-0ubuntu4 not added to debian/patches/series

Public bug reported:

The patch 0001-Don-t-hide-the-titlebar-when-the-window-is-
maximized.patch was not added to the series file, and therefore is not
applied to the source code by quilt.

[Bug 1424268] [NEW] Trash not always updating status when emptied.

2015-02-21 Thread Damir Butmir
Public bug reported:

Description = Happens only occasionally but basically, the default Trash
package (which I believe is part of Nautilus) gets confused and doesn't
properly update its own icon and status after being already emptied.

Steps to Reproduce:

1) Send several random files to Trash by deleting them

2) Right click on the Trash application Empty Trash

3) Observe the icon has not been updated and the Empty Trash command is
still shown as if there is something in Trash but actually, when you
open it is already empty

Expected Result = If the Trash is empty, the icon should reflect that and the
Empty Trash command should be disabled/hidden.

Severity = UI related only.

Environment = Release 12.04 (precise) 64-bit + Kernel Linux
3.13.0-45-generic + Nautilus 3.4.2
