[Bug 1428333] Re: gedit crashes on autocomplete with SIGSEGV in gtk_text_iter_get_buffer()

2015-03-05 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package gtksourceview3 - 3.14.3-1

gtksourceview3 (3.14.3-1) experimental; urgency=medium

  [ Jackson Doak ]
  * New upstream release. LP: #1423016
+ Resolves crash in completion in gedit's 'snippets' plugin. (LP:
  #1428333)
  * Add git_fix_height_parameter.patch. Fix a typo saying width is height.

  [ Iain Lane ]
  * Don't patch ltmain.sh manually; use dh-autoreconf to do this.

2015-03-05 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it
seems that a package failed to install due to a segmentation fault in
the application being used for the package installation process.
Unfortunately, this bug report isn't very useful in its current state
and a crash report would be much more useful. Could you try recreating
this issue by enabling apport to catch the crash report 'sudo service
apport start force_start=1' and then trying to install the same package
again? This process will create a new bug report so I am marking this
one as Invalid. Thanks again for helping out!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 410288] Re: Nautilus does not handle FTP timeouts well

2015-03-05 Thread Ross Lagerwall
See the bottom of the log: Attempt to unlock mutex that was not locked

The problem is that glib 2.42, used in Ubuntu 14.10 became more strict
about lock checking, and you're using a version of gvfs from a older
version of GNOME which had a locking bug. See this commit
https://git.gnome.org/browse/gvfs/commit/?id=2153d300f24d3388d7c4ab75a55451ad5a581b5a

Unfortunately, mixing and matching bits from different GNOME releases
can cause problems...

For a solution, you could ask the Ubuntu maintainers to add that patch.

[Bug 1428811] [NEW] Trusty hwe kernel (utopic) gpio shutdown trigger for ProLiant m400 cartridges

2015-03-05 Thread Craig Magina
Public bug reported:

This is an additional change following after the m800 bug (LP: #1347776)
and m400 bug (LP: #1354306), udev/systemd needs a rule to cover
triggering a graceful shutdown on the HP Proliant m400 Cartridge when
running the utopic hwe kernel in trusty.

[Impact]
Currently, graceful shutdown via the iLO works when running the base trusty
kernel, but if the hwe kernel is installed, it stops.

[Test Case]
Initiate a graceful shutdown via the iLO.

[Regression Potential]
The new rule is pretty tightly bound to the m400 system - so the risk of this
rule matching and impacting behavior on a different platform is minimal. This
will presumably cause new code to run and read /proc/device-tree/model on other
platforms - but this is already done for the m800 system in both utopic and
trusty as well as the 3.13.0 kernel m400 rule.

and it's gone in 1.23.2-1ubuntu1 vivid, too. Thanks, must've been my

Here they are, each one just after reboot.

http://pastebin.com/izwtJ0N3 - with thumbnails (opened an ftp, opened a folder
with non-generated thumbnails - was thrown out)
http://pastebin.com/7WZdSMuc - without thumbnails (opened an ftp, opened some
folders, returned to previous - was thrown out)

Strangely, I don't have this problem on an Acer P633 with the same
system, same packages (clean updated Ubuntu Gnome + vim, htop, guake). I
can send more info on this problematic PC, if you want.

[Bug 1428540] [NEW] tmpfiles.d order not respected any more, breaks rsyslog

2015-03-05 Thread Martin Pitt
Public bug reported:

With latest systemd we now get wrong permissions on /var/log when
rsyslog is installed:

drwxr-xr-x 1 root syslog 772 Mär 5 09:20 /var/log

It's supposed to be 0775, we install /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/00rsyslog.conf
for that. As per documentation, the first match should win.

This is simple to reproduce:

$ cat test.conf
d /var/log 0775 root syslog -
d /var/log 0755 - - -

$ sudo SYSTEMD_LOG_LEVEL=debug systemd-tmpfiles --create test.conf
[/home/martin/test.conf:2] Duplicate line for path /var/log, ignoring.
Running create action for entry d /var/log
Found existing directory /var/log.
chmod /var/log to mode 775
/var/log created successfully.
Running remove action for entry d /var/log
Running create action for entry d /var/log
Found existing directory /var/log.
chmod /var/log to mode 755
/var/log created successfully.

So it doesn't recognize that it already has a match, and applies the
second rule anyway.

[Bug 1251281] Re: gnome-session-flashback/Unity fails to start without hardware acceleration in cloud/remote environments (Forwarded-X/XRDP/VNC/NX/X2GO/Chromoting)

2015-03-05 Thread James David Smith
I'm a very newbie Linux guy, but have been using Ubuntu through XRDP for
a year or so now (accessed via windows remote desktop from a PC).
Unfortunately since I upgraded Ubuntu to 14, it's stopped working. I
installed XFCE, but that has caused other problems. I'd really like to
use the standard Unity desktop. I hope that the discussions above come
to a point where this is fixed.

2015-03-05 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Cristian Aravena Romero, thank you for taking the time to report this
bug and trying to help make Ubuntu better. However, the upstream kernel
is not a software package provided by the official Ubuntu repositories.
For more on this please see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds#Does_the_kernel_team_support_the_mainline_kernel_builds.3F
. Because of this the Ubuntu project can not support or fix your
particular bug. Please report this bug to the provider of the software
package. Thanks!

[Bug 1246272] Re: Keyboard layout changing randomly

2015-03-05 Thread miguelquiros
Hello.
I have bumped into this bug too. In the middle of a session (I do not remember
doing anything special in that session, either installing new software or
changing system settings or anything of that kind), the keyboard switched from
Spanish to English and stayed like that even after rebooting the system.
The bug affected only GNOME, if I started session with Cinnamon or XFCE, the
keyboard behaves as Spanish, but when I logged with GNOME again (either with
Metacity or Compiz), the bug showed itself up!
With this information, I opened dconf-editor and start looking at keys related
with GNOME and I found this one:
org - gnome - desktop - input-sources
Here, I can see under sources the keyboard layouts present in the system (in
my case, Spanish and English in this order) and the key current that had the
value 1. Looking at the help in this screen 0 is the first layout, 1 the
second, Hence, I changed current from 1 to 0 (which should be the
predetermined value), closed the window, closed and reopened the session, and
voila!, my keyboard was Spanish again.
What I cannot tell is which application or which action from my part has
misconfigured the dconf settings, so perhaps the information I am giving here
is not going to help too much in locating the bug but at least, I hope the
solution I have found works also for others.
By the way, who has labelled this bug as low importance? For sure, it must be
someone that only uses English keyboards. I do not think that anyone using a
non-English keyboard can flag the importance of this bug as low, it makes the
use of the keyboard quite annoying!
