[Bug 1435687] Re: disable/enable WiFi on devices with read-only rootfs, the wifi network name will auto plus 1
I think this overcomplicates things a lot. I see three options here: 1) My impression is that we don't actually care about persistant interface names on the phone. Therefore, phone image builds could just create/ship an empty /etc/udev/rules.d/75-persistent-net-generator.rules which will disable the one in /lib/udev/rules.d/ and therefore disable the generator completely. 2) If we actually do want persistant names across reboots, then /etc/udev/rules.d/ needs to become writable. It does not make sense to support a phone specific path for this if we could just make the above writable. 3) As you already said, we could also enable net.ifnames=1 on the kernel command line to use proper interface names, which will also disable 75-persistent-net-generator.rules. ** Package changed: systemd (Ubuntu) = ubuntu-settings (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1435687 Title: disable/enable WiFi on devices with read-only rootfs, the wifi network name will auto plus 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/systemd/+bug/1435687/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1300308] Re: select items matching (ctrl+s) only selects one file in list view (due to interactive_search ubuntu change)
FWIW, this bug is present in Ubuntu 15.04 beta 2. Ctrl-S select pattern works in icon view (will select multiple files), but not in list view (will only select one file). If it helps, this also affects a selection once it is pasted/copied to a destination, same pattern as selection. i.e. pasting a selection of files in icon view mode, the selection is retained, whereas pasting in list view, only one file remains selected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1300308 Title: select items matching (ctrl+s) only selects one file in list view (due to interactive_search ubuntu change) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/1300308/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1392440] Re: rhythmbox crashes when I save music to the playlist
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1392440 Title: rhythmbox crashes when I save music to the playlist To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/1392440/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1436944] [NEW] Nautilus file manager uncertain or incorrect responses
Public bug reported: Since the release and my installations of 14.10, Nautilus (now 3.10.1) has not responded to commands as reliably as it used to. I find that, for example, clicking on the File menu in an application such as LibreOffice Write, may either produce no response, or may cause a currently maximised window to minimise. It may take several attempted clicks to actually drop down the File menu. With a file manager window, clicking on the Documents choice may open something else such as Home. Basically the file management just seems generally flaky in its responses. Sensing of cursor positon and mouse button input seems uncertain. I was hoping this would be straightened out by an update (I apply updates almost as soon as they are available) but this hasn't happened. I have 14.10 installed on two systems and they both show this odd behaviour. I have menus set to appear in windows title bar. I have not tried switching them to the desktop menu bar. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1436944 Title: Nautilus file manager uncertain or incorrect responses To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1436944/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1432829] Re: resolv.conf not updated correctly for interfaces configured in initramfs
Thanks Scott for fixing this! However, this is awkward to have in systemd: it meddles with ifupdown's and open-iscsi's internals and has open-iscsi specific knowledge which really belongs into open-iscsi itself. I. e. open-iscsi should ship the counterpart of debian/open- iscsi.iscsi-network-interface.upstart. [Bug 1432265] Re: does not ask for multiple LUKS passphrases
That sounds like https://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=779612 . Do you use plymouth, i. e. do you see the graphical sphash screen and boot with splash? [Bug 1251281] Re: gnome-session-flashback/Unity fails to start without hardware acceleration in cloud/remote environments (Forwarded-X/XRDP/VNC/NX/X2GO/Chromoting)
In vivid gnome-session-flashback is created from gnome-flashback... So in vivid gnome-panel has nothing to do with this bug. Not sure if this is problem, but one thing could be missing --disable- acceleration-check in /usr/lib/gnome-flashback/gnome-flashback-metacity. This file is installed by gnome-session-flashback, so maybe gnome- flashback needs little patch? https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome- flashback/commit/?id=39dbfd09d4a7e16d5ca41319a62f173b8c79ca79 ** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu Vivid) Status: Triaged = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1251281 Title: gnome-session-flashback/Unity fails to start without hardware acceleration in cloud/remote environments (Forwarded-X/XRDP/VNC/NX/X2GO/Chromoting) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-session/+bug/1251281/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
