[Bug 1450935] [NEW] Rhythmbox crashed when I added to a large Play Queue

2015-05-01 Thread Rich Fiekowsky
Public bug reported:

Rhythmbox just crashed on my Ubuntu 14.04 system on a Dell GX620. The Dell
mimitower has the integrated sound and 4 GB RAM.
The action that apparently provoked the crash was: I dragged and dropped three
files from the Music list (in the main pane) onto the Play Queue icon (in the
left pane). It was playing (not paused) at the time. Earlier in the day, I had
pointed rhythmbox to my audio directory (in Preferences). RB had finished
adding the tracks to the Music list. But afterward, I had made a few changes in
some of the subdirectories of my audio directory.

At the time, Chromium was using a great deal of RAM, and tabs were open
which had played video with sound.

After the music stopped, apport displayed that there was not enough free
memory to analyze and report the crash. System Monitor showed over 2 GB
free.

I realize my usage is a little extreme:

 - System monitor showed the rhythmbox process was using 255 MB of memory
before apport killed it.

 - My audio directory contains over 50,000 tracks

 - There were 125 tracks in the Play Queue at the time. I had dragged and
dropped them there, one at a time or a few at a time, from the Music list.

[Bug 1241101]

2015-05-01 Thread Marc-andre-laperle
I can reproduce the crash using Thomas Singer's example code (comment
9), on Ubuntu 13.10 and 14.04 when UBUNTU_MENUPROXY is enabled. If I
disable UBUNTU_MENUPROXY it works. I think it's the same issue as bug
461311: radio button in the menu. Can we mark one as duplicate of the
other?

[Bug 1450834] [NEW] lightdm fails to unlock with serial console configured

2015-05-01 Thread js1
Public bug reported:

With /etc/default/grub configured for serial console output as follows
(seehttps://help.ubuntu.com/community/SerialConsoleHowto):

GRUB_DEFAULT=0
GRUB_TIMEOUT=3
GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=`lsb_release -i -s 2 /dev/null || echo Debian`
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=console=tty0 console=ttyS0,9600n8

#GRUB_TERMINAL=console
GRUB_TERMINAL=serial console
GRUB_SERIAL_COMMAND=serial --speed=9600 --unit=0 --word=8 --parity=no --stop=1

Lightdm fails to unlock a locked screen. Initial login works fine.
But, when the screen locks, the correct password is accepted, but the
screen does not unlock.

If I disable serial console with the default GRUB_TERMINAL=console,
lightdm screen unlock seems to work fine. I don't know if this is a
problem with lightdm or light-locker.

[Bug 1450588] Re: /var/log/dmesg No Longer Being Updated

2015-05-01 Thread Martin Pitt
Right, /var/log/dmesg was an upstart specific file. There is little
point in writing yet another log file, given that all the information is
already available in the systemd journal, /var/log/kern.log, and
/var/log/syslog.

[Bug 1450747] [NEW] Native overlay scrollbars aren't themed

2015-05-01 Thread Iain Lane
Public bug reported:

In 3.16 (from ppa:ubuntu-desktop/ww + overlay-scrollbar from this PPA),
applications have native overlay scrollbars provided by GTK. We want to
use these in Ubuntu, but currently they are not themed so look a bit
incongruous. I think we want to

  - Theme them to fit in with Ambiance/Radiance
  - If possible, show a thumb when the scrollbar is hidden so that you can see
where you are in a document

[Bug 1448764] Re: Nautilus opens as a different app

2015-05-01 Thread William Lee
No, I don't have a local nautilus .desktop file, I start it by clicking
the icon in the Launcher, and no I don't have that problem in guest
session. However, something to note is that the occurrence is irregular
and doesn't happen on every login.
