[Bug 1487471] [NEW] Udev rule for MTP with nvidia Shield

2015-08-21 Thread Jaufré Aligé
Public bug reported:

Hello,

Nvidia shield tab won't connect with mtp protocol on Ubuntu 14.04.3
It's a big trouble, many users tell me cameras or Svidia Shield are not
supported.

To fix it for Nvidia Shield, we need to add the following Udev rule :

in file /lib/udev/rules.d/69-libmtp.rules

add this line :
ATTR{idVendor}==0955, ATTR{idProduct}==cf07, SYMLINK+=libmtp-%k,
MODE=660, GROUP=audio, ENV{ID_MTP_DEVICE}=1, ENV{ID_MEDIA_PLAYER}=1

then of course restart udev service :
sudo service udev restart

   Attempt to start VirtualBox or LuckyBackup causes session logout

 Status in gnome-keyring package in Ubuntu:
   Invalid

 Bug description:
   This started after updates were installed on Monday 8/15/2011. After
   the udates were installed, upon rebooting my system, I attempted to
   launch VirtualBox and was logged out without warning. Initially, I had
   found a thread in the Ubuntu Forums about using Xinerama with
   VirtualBox, and so I disabled and disconnected my second monitor, and
   this seemed to have fixed the issue. Later that evening, the same
   issue reappeared.

   1.Description:Ubuntu 11.04
   Release:  11.04
   2.I believe the offending package is gnome-keyring but I am not
 absolutely certain...

 use for various purposes/testing.

[Bug 1487546] [NEW] Newly copied files report zero (0) file size

2015-08-21 Thread Phill
Public bug reported:

1) Boot into the standard Ubuntu session.
2) Connect an MTP device (I've used HTC One M8 and Tesco Hudl, although both
required a udev rule entry to get them to mount automatically)
3) Copy a file to the device using `cp` in a terminal (not Nautilus).
4) Check it's size, it reads zero.
5) Check size in a Nautilus, it reads zero.
6) Unmount the device in Nautilus.
7) Remount the device in Nautilus.
8) Check file size again, it will be correct.

Copying files using Nautilus appears to work properly, but this excludes
the use of a wide range of utilities, such as `cp`, `rsync` and the
like. This may be a gvfs-fuse issue or gvfs-backend issue, feel free to
change, I wasn't sure.

[Bug 1463190] Re: HTC One M8 mounted as gphoto not mtp

2015-08-21 Thread Phill
It's possible to add a `udev` rule to fix this, so I'm guessing `udev`
is the more appropriate package.

Here are the rules for this and the Tesco Hudl while we're at it.

```
# HTC One M8
ATTR{idVendor}==0bb4, ATTR{idProduct}==0f25, SYMLINK+=libmtp-%k,
ENV{ID_MTP_DEVICE}=1, ENV{ID_MEDIA_PLAYER}=1
# Tesco Hudl
ATTR{idVendor}==0e79, ATTR{idProduct}==5008, SYMLINK+=libmtp-%k,
ENV{ID_MTP_DEVICE}=1, ENV{ID_MEDIA_PLAYER}=1
```

** Package changed: gvfs (Ubuntu) = udev (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1280867] Re: nautilus segfaults in compare_by_display_name()

2015-08-21 Thread Sebastien Bacher
@Doug, thanks, that's an useful comment. That function indeed seems to
not handle null cases correctly, the upstream GNOME bug seems to
indicator a similar case

[Bug 1448511] Re: Unable to set gnome-terminal title from menu in Vivid Vervet

2015-08-21 Thread CarlaD
This is disappointing - I used that feature all the time in order to set
the title of terminal windows that weren't configurable from .bashrc -
eg, when starting a local server, or when sshing into a remote server,
when monitoring realtime logs. I often have several windows open at
once, and setting a custom title in the tab was the only way I could
easily identify what process the window was an interface to.
