[Bug 1503602] [NEW] Eog should show an Open with... menu item in the global menu under Unity
Public bug reported: Hello, currently Eog in Wily lacks a discoverable "Open with..." menu item under "Image" in its menu bar when using Unity, so I propose to add it there. The "Open with..." functionality is currently only avaiable from the context menu when you right click somewhere in the image, but that's not very discoverable. When using Eog under Ubuntu Gnome, the "Open with.." item is integrated into the menu of the "Hamburger button" in the toolbar on the top right. Previous versions of Eog (untill Vivid) had the ability to customize the toolbar and add an "Edit image..." button, which I'm missing a bit, and the "Open with..." functionality is the most viable replacement for this at the moment, so it should not be made too hard for existing users to discover that. >test case: >do an "unzip -l" on the file http://tinyurl.com/2aofpxs and witness the >question marks Sorry for posting on this already quite long bug. I am using Ubuntu 14.04 (LTS) with all the latest updates. This bug is still present for me. I need to explicitly pass `-O 850` to enable codepage 850 in order to resolve it. [Bug 1503718] [NEW] control-center, wacom-tablet: Calibration window is unresponsive
Public bug reported: I am not able to calibrate my Wacom Cintiq 24HD in Ubuntu Gnome 15.10 (Beta 1, fresh install). When I click on calibrate the calibration window fills the screen of the Cintiq and the circle in the middle of the screen slowly fills, the window does not respond to any user inputs, tapping the calibration point does nothing and alt-f4 brings up a 'Wacom-tablet' is not responding window. This bug was fixed in the package jayatana - 2.7-0ubuntu3.1 --- jayatana (2.7-0ubuntu3.1) vivid; urgency=medium * Do not export JAVA_TOOL_OPTION session file for now. It seems jayatana breaks some tools which are running java -version to grep for the runtime version. Remove session variable export until java upstream get a proper upstream solution for Gnome Shell and Unity global menu. (LP: #1441487) Meanwhile, people who wants to keep this functionality enabled (or programs which knows are working well with it) can reexport JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS="-javaagent:/usr/share/java/jayatanaag.jar $JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS" in their session environment on a per program by program bases. -- Didier RocheTue, 29 Sep 2015 17:40:39 +0200 ** Changed in: jayatana (Ubuntu Vivid) Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to jayatana in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1441487 Title: Running any Java program produces messages in the terminal, while rendering many Java applications broken To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/1441487/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
