[Bug 1113420] Re: Alt+ window menu shortcuts cannot be disabled

2015-11-02 Thread Bert Vermeulen
This is a general problem across Unity, and it is SUPREMELY annoying.

I like to use -t to open a terminal, and various other keyboard
shortcuts that use as the only modifier. That has always worked,
but it's broken on Unity: when I start an application that has a menu
that starts with the letter 't', that application steals the shortcut.
Instead of popping up a new terminal, it opens that menu.

Even worse, even after quitting the application the keyboard shortcut
remains broken.

To reproduce:
- in Unity settings -> keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Launchers change the "Launch
terminal" shortcut to ALT+T
- hit -t, new terminial pops up
- start Thunderbird or Okular, both of which have a "Tools" menu
- note -t now opens the Tools menu
- kill the application
- hit -t, nothing happens

The keyboard shortcut is still there in the settings. Restarting Unity
makes it work again.

Note that the applications that trigger this use GTK2 and Qt,
respectively. There is nothing wrong with an application registering
menu keyboard shortcuts -- but the window manager cannot be overruled by
an application!

Unity's keyboard shortcuts *must* take precedence.

[Bug 1511914] Re: Crash on edit with external editor, results in corrupt image database entry

2015-11-02 Thread Janne Moren
** Description changed:

Select "edit with external editor". The image opens in Gimp, but
Shotwell crashes. Save the image, open shotwell (order doesn't matter).

  * The image thumbnail doesn't change proportions to the edited image,
resulting in squashed image. And rotated images lose their rotation
information on screen. The underlying edited image is unaffected. This
happens only with images edited with the crash above; previous images
  are fine.

  * I am unable to permanently change associated data such as the
grade/stars. Once I quite Shotwell those changes are gone. Again, this
affects only images edited as above.

- * This happened with the update to Wily Werewolf. Previous Shotwell
- version was fine.
+ * This happened with the update to Wily Werewolf (Shotwell
+ 0.22.0-Ubuntu5). Previous Shotwell version in Vivid was fine.

[Bug 1512354] [NEW] Segfault on unchecking "Only Show Current Language" in fcitx-configtool

2015-11-02 Thread Adnan Shameem
Public bug reported:

I'm on Kubuntu 15.10 32 bit.

1)
$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 15.10
Release:15.10

2)
$ apt-cache policy fcitx
fcitx:
  Installed: 1:4.2.9-3
  Candidate: 1:4.2.9-3
  Version table:
 *** 1:4.2.9-3 0
500 http://mirror.dhakacom.com/ubuntu-archive/ wily/main i386 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What you expected to happen
Not crashing and correctly populating the languages under "Available Input
Method" list.

4) What happened instead
The dialog box Closed. Terminal output shows Segmentation fault. (Discussed
below.)

Steps to reproduce:

1. Run fcitx
2. Open "Fcitx Configuration"
3. Uncheck "Only Show Current Language"
(in a few seconds the dialog box closes.)

In terminal I ran fcitx-configtool and then tried to Uncheck the
checkbox. The dialog closed and the output is shown as follows:

$ fcitx-configtool
kcmshell5 with modules ' "org.kde.kcmshell_kcm_fcitx" ' is already running.
' "org.kde.kcmshell_kcm_fcitx" ' closed, quitting.

If I run it second time and try to uncheck, the output in terminal
changes:

$ fcitx-configtool
QFont::setPointSize: Point size <= 0 (0), must be greater than 0
QFont::setPointSize: Point size <= 0 (0), must be greater than 0
QFont::setPointSize: Point size <= 0 (0), must be greater than 0
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I am not expert on bug reporting. Hope the info helps.

[Bug 253167] Re: Rhythmbox sort by "Album Artist" for guest/compilations

2015-11-02 Thread Piedro Kulman
No bumping please, no complaining for heavens sake , no asking nicely -
how dare you!

Well 7 years of an open bug is not fixed because the devs do not
understand the problem...

Sure they have any right to not do anything about it. That's why I
ditched rhythmbox years ago, just came around to check whether anything
happens here... lol... I guessed so.

Whatever the "upstream" procedure is here - obviously it doesn't help anyone.
Great system of developing! And that's why we can't have nice things.

You devs have done a great job 10 years ago, since then..., meh... not so
much...
Rhythmbox still feels 10 years old and users can not sort by album artist if
they so desire - funny kind of freedom

Cheers, p.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when
trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following
command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal:

sudo apt-get clean

Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your
issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory
corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a
memory test. Thanks in advance!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Another way to reproduce that bug:

ssh-keygen -t rsa -N "" -f ~/.ssh/newkey

while true; do ssh localhost date; done

[Bug 1512498] [NEW] gnome-terminal thinks it's Byobu Terminal

2015-11-02 Thread Barry Warsaw
Public bug reported:

After dist-upgrading from Wily to Xenial, gnome-terminal has a global
menu bar entry, and switcher icon of Byobu Terminal. This is regardless

tell any difference from "traditional" gnome-terminal.

[Bug 1511914] Re: Crash on edit with external editor, results in corrupt image database entry

2015-11-02 Thread Janne Moren
Added info: If I first do an edit - any edit - using Shotwell itself so
that it creates a changed file on disk, I can then edit the image with
an external editor without problems.

So the issue seems to be connected to creating an editable copy of the
image when triggering the action by using an external editor. Or
possibly by using gimp, specifically, as the external editor?

[Bug 1469221] Re: Move to webkit2gtk in main

2015-11-02 Thread Iain Lane
Hi Steve,

I just reuploaded webkit to put the dependencies back to the version of
WK2 shipped by webkitgtk in main.

The status of this bug is that we aren't actively working on it,
although it is still a goal. Some of the packages are very difficult to
port, not least the email clients, and would be best done by the
upstream developers.

I put a note to myself to have another look in a few weeks. It may be
possible to demote some of the rdepends (for example evolution and
empathy) which could make the remaining set tractable for us to handle.

Cheers,
Iain
