[Bug 1518775] [NEW] gnome-panel cannot show newly installed software icons

2015-11-22 Thread Cui Wei
Public bug reported:

1) First => sudo apt-get install gnome-session-flashback

2) Then => re-login user with "Gnome Flashback (Metacity)" session

3) Next => install a software that does not exist in gnome-panel menu list
previously, such as "sudo apt-get install mousepad"

However, after installion of mousepad, its icons doesn't show in gnome-
panel menu list. I have to:

4) killall gnome-panel

5) gnome-panel &

Then, the mousepad icon can be shown in gnome-panel menu list.

This might be caused by forgetting to update icon menu list from gnome-
panel

[Bug 1368647] Re: GPS and location detection not working on Nexus 4

2015-11-22 Thread Lorn Potter
Since it takes quite a bit of time to get a satellite fix, but it does
get one eventually (nexus 4 here), we can probably assume that it is
agps that is not working.

In the location log, I can getting errors such as:
E1123 16:30:46.685298 1232 android_hardware_abstraction_layer.cpp:157] Error
downloading GPS Xtra data: Timeout was reached: Operation timed out after 1499
milliseconds with 50170 out of 58711 bytes received

Which to me points again to agps.

[Bug 1480877] Re: Access points' "PropertiesChanged" dbus signals freeze UI on mobile devices

2015-11-22 Thread Lorn Potter
I agree, since nothing controls the connections through QtBearer (and
the platform doesn't want that), and AP lists are not allowed in
contained apps, it makes sense to simply remove them.

I've fixed up that patch in regards to d'tor disconnects, removed some
redundant code.

And since it was a small change, I fixed up the defaultConfiguration
code that would not correctly detect when the default route changed from
mobile to wifi, thus possibly allowing network requests to go through
expensive mobile data when wifi is available.

[Bug 1518677] [NEW] bluetooth switched on after resuming from suspend

2015-11-22 Thread Martin Konopka
Public bug reported:

affected hardware: HP ZBook 15 (generation 1).

* latest BIOS version: L70 Ver. 01.33
* UEFI BIOS set to native UEFI

1.) Turn on the computer. The bluetooth should be in its Off state.
2.) Close the lid so that the suspend (sleep) state is forced.

I have an external USB hard disk connected; I think it's an NTFS or
amybe FAT32 filesystem, certainly not an ext* one.

I right-click on it on the left panel of Nautilus and select Properties
(or I open it, right-click on the background of the right panel and
select "properties", it's the same).

Result: see the screenshot.
It says: "Filesystem type:" and nothing follows. It should indicate the type of
filesystem.

Pathetic, as usual with Nautilus.

[Bug 1515829] Re: Gimp tooltip text color is white on white

2015-11-22 Thread antonio
A work around to this problem is explained in the following link:
http://www.iwillfolo.com/how-to-change-gtk-apps-tooltips-text-and-background-color/

The problem seems to be some incompatibility as explained in that page, as per
quote below:
"When utilizing a desktop environment other than GNOME, or when using a
non-default theme in GNOME-shell itself, you may often encounter
incompatibilities which are mostly reflected through native GTK apps such as
GIMP, Nautilus, Totem, etc…"

The solution explained there about modifying file "~/.gtkrc-2.0" worked
for me.

[Bug 1518742] [NEW] Used space and item count of folder in Properties doesn't take into account hidden files!

2015-11-22 Thread teo1978
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:
- right-click on a folder and select Properties
- look at "Contents" (wait until it is finished computing the totals)

Expected: the total number of items and disk usage should correspond to
the real number of items and the real disk usage

Observed: it only takes into account non-hidden folders and files, which
renders it useless.

This is so ridiculous.

Marking it as confirmed as there's no need to wait for somebody else to
confirm such a trivial thing.
