It's because you use ppa packages and not official ones so the Ubuntu
packages don't match, it seems to be fine since the Ubuntu GNOME team
seem to have a setup that got extra info, the bug in for them and not in
Ubuntu proper in this case

[Bug 1523924] [NEW] nautilus slow with NFS via autofs when not connected

2015-12-08 Thread svenmeier
Public bug reported:

I have mapped folders on my NAS to my notebook via NFS and autofs:

sven@svenBlack:~$ more /etc/auto.master.d/diskstation.autofs
/diskstation /etc/diskstation.nfs
sven@svenBlack:~$ more /etc/diskstation.nfs
*   -fstype=nfs4,soft,intr   diskstation:/volume1/&
sven@svenBlack:~$ more ~/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks
file:///home/sven/Documents
file:///home/sven/Music
file:///home/sven/Pictures
file:///home/sven/Videos
file:///home/sven/Downloads
file:///diskstation/homes/sven sven
file:///diskstation/music music
file:///diskstation/photo photo

Whenever my notebook is connected to another network - which my NAS is
not part of - Nautilus needs several seconds to display contents for
folders on my local harddrive.

[Bug 1523929] [NEW] "No such schema 'org.gtk.Settings.Debug'" error upon trying to activate GTKInspector shortcuts

2015-12-08 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
Public bug reported:

I have been following the Ubuntu GNOME newcomers guide, and in the
GTKInspector section (https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/GTK%2B/Inspector)
it says:

"To enable the debugger, either start your app with
GTK_DEBUG=interactive in your environment, or run gsettings set
org.gtk.Settings.Debug enable-inspector-keybinding true and launch the
debugger with the Control-Shift-I or Control-Shift-D keyboard
shortcuts."

However, upon running that code I just get this error:

No such schema 'org.gtk.Settings.Debug'

And the keyboard shortcuts don't work... I have checked in
"org.gtk.Settings" and there is no "Debug" section.

[Bug 1301083] Re: Drag and Drop File Auto Opens Folders

2015-12-08 Thread Silas Arn
I like this as a feature. But it leads me often to mistakes, dropping in
a subfulder. A good resolution would be that if one folder opens, the
subfolder under the cursor is gray and inactive, if i release the mouse
it is dropped in the current folder.

[Bug 1520726] Re: on the desktop, an icon hides another icon

2015-12-08 Thread Andre Klapper
@Sebastian, or you could make the effort to check the feedback of Ubuntu
users in Launchpad by confirming first that it's still a problem in
3.18, before asking Ubuntu users to spend time reporting such issues
upstream. Sounds better to me than your proposal. :)

[Bug 1523985] [NEW] evolution-source-registery needs a restart to pick newly activated uoa accounts

2015-12-08 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Public bug reported:

Using current xenial version
- go to the uoa settings
- add a google account

- > you get a notification that there is an auth issue (that's a weird
workflow but needed because the application needs to auth but e-d-s
can't do UI prompting)

- auth e-d-s in the settings

-> the new account should be active/listed in the indicator or gnome-
calendar but is not

The issue is probably that e-d-s connect to the "account-created" signal on a
AgManager object and adds the account correctly, but at this point the
authentification/confirmation is not done yet so the account fails to active,
and there is no following callback after the authentification is done.

It seems that AgManager doesn't provide an appropriate signal that can
be used there so some work might be needed on the signon side

[Bug 1480877] Re: Access points' "PropertiesChanged" dbus signals freeze UI on mobile devices

2015-12-08 Thread Tony Espy
Just a quick update to mention that the change to the NM bearer plugin
seems to have caused a regression when qtbase is installed from the PPA
onto a desktop ( for UI development work ).

To reproduce, the overlay PPA needs to be added as a software source,
then ubuntu-system-settings installed/upgraded ( which pulls in qtbase
). See bug #1523975 for details.

[Bug 1237355] Re: Logitech Ultrathin Touch Mouse needs to be repaired

2015-12-08 Thread giz manning
I'll throw this in..

I've got the same mouse and get the random and irritating characters
(it's a real *joy* when using google docs/sheets I'll tell you...)

it occures mostly on scrolling, but the mouse also occasionally spits
out characters when my hand is still/near still.

I am on Debian Jessie running KDE, so different from you guys..

I've tried disconnecting BT and reconnecting, but to no avail.

I have found that rebooting the OS clears the issues.

So we have this issue across multiple desktop environments (KDE/GNOME)
The issue clears after reboot.

Could be this be OS related?

Has their been any progress on this? It's now 2 years later and the same
android connection loop is still occuring. The workaround has also
stopped working.

[Bug 1524062] [NEW] tab completion doesn't work for eog and ppm files

2015-12-08 Thread Timothy Miller
Public bug reported:

I've noticed that tab completion doesn't work for eog if I'm trying to
do completion on a ppm file. If there are, say, jpeg files in the
directory, tab completion works. But with ppm files, tab does nothing.

Here's an old Red Hat bugzilla entry for the same problem:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1090481

According to them, the bug was fixed up-stream months ago, so I'm
guessing that Ubuntu has retained an out-dated version of EOG, and you
may want to update it to fix this bug.

[Bug 1524121] [NEW] gnome-disk-utility no longer recognizes luks partitions

2015-12-08 Thread agent 8131
Public bug reported:

I had created LUKS partitions on zvol's in an earlier version but now
version 3.16.2 (Ubuntu 15.10) shows those as "Unknown". Prior to upgrade
I could unlock the partitions and edit the encryption options. I can
unlock the partitions using cryptsetup which also works fine with
commands like cryptsetup luksDump /dev/zd0.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it
seems that there is a problem with your hardware. I recommend
performing a back up and then investigating the situation. Measures you
might take include checking cable connections and using software tools
to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not
in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to
New. Thanks and good luck!

[Bug 1480877] Re: Access points' "PropertiesChanged" dbus signals freeze UI on mobile devices

2015-12-08 Thread Selene Scriven
Is it possible that this fix might cause a phone to wake up more often,
or to stay awake longer? I'm seeing weird idle power behavior ever
since this fix landed in krillin rc-proposed 196.

Before: ~9 mA
http://people.canonical.com/~platform-qa/power-results/2015-12-08_03:19:30-krillin-195-power_usage_idle/graph.png

After: ~35 mA
http://people.canonical.com/~platform-qa/power-results/2015-12-08_07:36:16-krillin-196-power_usage_idle/graph.png

Here's the commit log for 196:

http://people.canonical.com/~lzemczak/landing-team/ubuntu-touch/rc-
proposed/196.commitlog

Arale results look fine. I don't know why krillin is different, but I'm
only seeing this behavior on krillin when wifi is connected... and this
bug fix is a likely suspect. I don't see additional forks or crashes in
the test logs, which suggests the issue is probably caused by a long-
running process.

Thanks for the graphs. One thing that stands out is the time that the
system stays active when occasionally waking up from deep sleep (right
hand side of the graph).
Do you have the raw data producing those graphs handy?
