[Bug 1160847] Re: gvfs should not attempt to mount MTP devices in an endless loop (cluttering your desktop with messages)

2015-12-10 Thread Pat McGowan
The original bug was that it was repeatedly popping up the error dialog
saying it could not mount it. In this case it is mounting it
successfully but for some reason is remounting it, as if you lost
connection.

If you watch the syslog you may see if it actually sees the connection
dropping and reconnecting. Dumb question but have you tried a different
cable.

2015-12-10 Thread Darren
The same issue happens with other cables when mounting phones(have tried
3 different phones so far), but a webcam doesn't seem to have any
issues. I looked at the syslog, and saw this pattern repeated over and
over.

@Darren, can you open a bug against the kernel? That will provide a
way to track this issue and review your hardware and configuration.

I can investigate this issue using that bug report. You can open a bug
by running the following from a terminal:

ubuntu-bug linux

then definitely not the same bug, you may want to submit a new bug
against the kernel although its not clear to me its not hardware related

I see other similar reports where people have resolved by unplugging
devices and shutting down the PC, modprobe the usb driver, etc but no
idea

Thank you for your bug report. The big icons is bug #1522316, the
missing delete option is an upstream one and it would be nice if
somebody having it could send the bug to the developers of the software
by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1524709] [NEW] Large icons only, and no 'delete' menuitem

2015-12-10 Thread Barry Drake
Public bug reported:

Since the last update, Nautilus appears with very large icons, and I've
so far found no way of adjusting their size that will work. Also,
there is no menuitem I can find so far that allows 'delete' rather than
moving into the recycle bin. I use this a great deal.

[Bug 1524762] [NEW] Saving a document fails with error "Error opening file '[path to file]': Permission denied"

2015-12-10 Thread Karl-Philipp Richter
Public bug reported:

`evince` seems to create a file with mode 0400 which doesn't make a lot
of sense. The directory is a regular directory created in `nautilus` and
doesn't cause any trouble with other applications (e.g. `libreoffice`
can store documents without problems), so that there seems to be no
reason for the failure.

2015-12-10 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.
