[Bug 1524610] Re: search should prioritize name field

2016-01-08 Thread Sebastien Bacher
> Then how do I phrase the comment that I was requested to move the bug
upstream?

I'm unsure the fact that your were "requested to move the bug" is
useful, that's an upstream issue and you are reported it to them, you
could have gone directly their way. In any case if you want to provide
that information you can use "I originally reported that bug on
launchpad
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1524610 and was
asked to report it upstream as well", I don't think who triaged the bug
and added the comment is an important detail for the upstream bug
resolution...

Marc, you don't need to remove the package ibus, just disable it as
suggested by Salvatore: start menu > Preferences > Language Support >

launched on another screen with default orientation and then dragged
over to the rotated screen).

[Bug 1523086] Re: Ubuntu 15.10: GNOME Terminal window loses mouse cursor

2016-01-08 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Vlad K., thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.

As per http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/A770DE+/?cat=Download=BIOS an
update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (1.70).
If you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't
have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible:
1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an
apport-collect):
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement
or not.
3) Please mark this report Status New. If it's not reproducible, please mark
this as Invalid.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1524709] Re: new nautilus has no delete item

2016-01-08 Thread Sebastien Bacher
I guess we should backport that for the LTS, though I'm unsure if we
need 2 items to trash/delete ... the upstream change has it under a
gsettings key, which means it's available for those who know how to poke
at the configuration but is not going to fix the "out of the box"
experience for most users if that item is judged important...

2016-01-08 Thread Alberto Aguirre
The stack trace points to:

ss << "type='" << lut.at(d->type) << "'" << comma;

where lut is a static const std::map. So
perhaps the dbus::Object instance is destroyed after unloading the
libdbus-cpp.so.

Is libdbus-cpp.so being loaded dynamically? Or I guess a library linking
to libdbus-cpp is loaded dynamically.

Personally, no, either delete to trash or the keybinding is fine.
I guess the most valid complaint upstream was for users of apple
hardware stating they have no delete key.

I take it then that 16.04 will use nautilus 3.18 & not go to 3.20?

[Bug 1524709] Re: new nautilus has no delete item

2016-01-08 Thread Sebastien Bacher
is there a real need for a menu item for that though? it's easy to trash
and empty the trash or use the keybinding...

correct, gtk 3.20 has changes to the css rendering which impact
applications and would be a risky changes/lot of work, we are not going
to take on that this cycle

[Bug 1524709] Re: new nautilus has no delete item

2016-01-08 Thread Doug McMahon
If backporting then without any real code changes setting the default to true
would make available.
(- it could be that some users would prefer not to have the option available so
keeping the gsettings is useful.
A gschema.override could be used but seems not a good way, exposing the option
elsewhere seems to be work better spent elsewhere
