[Bug 1536438] [NEW] Need add uaccess tag for /dev/dri/renderD*

2016-01-20 Thread Qiang Yu
Public bug reported:

3.16/3.19 Linux kernel add render node support which will create
/dev/dri/renderD*.
uaccess tag must be added to the /lib/udev/rules.d/70-uaccess.rules to make it
access-able to login user just like /dev/dri/card*.
It has been done on Ubuntu 15.04, but 14.04.3 has not.

14.04.3 70-uaccess.rules
# DRI video devices
SUBSYSTEM=="drm", KERNEL=="card*", TAG+="uaccess"

15.04 70-uaccess.rules
# DRI video devices
SUBSYSTEM=="drm", KERNEL=="card*|renderD*", TAG+="uaccess"

Please fix this for AMD GPU driver will use the /dev/dri/renderD*.

[Bug 1536294] [NEW] Network filesystems don't mount on boot

2016-01-20 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Ubuntu 15.10, I have several CIFS filesystems listed in /etc/fstab.

They don't mount at boot. If I list them by host name in /etc/fstab,
mount says name resolution failed in the boot logs. If I list them by IP
address, mount says the network is unreachable in the boot logs.

If fixed this by adding the following in /etc/systemd/system/remote-fs-
pre.target.d/override.conf:

[Unit]
Requires=NetworkManager-wait-online.service
After=NetworkManager-wait-online.service

See also #1313513. This is a problem in older, pre-systemd versions of Ubuntu
as well.

[Bug 11334] Re: MASTER Copy-Paste doesn't work if the source is closed before the paste

2016-01-20 Thread JohnWashington
@pander: Don't you think it's insane to suggest every one of 23 (or more
likely thousands) of applications need to implement this internally,
instead of a generic solution?

In Ubuntu Unity I find Diodon works well, it's completely solved the
problem on Unity for me. But the user has to:

1. Realise there's a problem
2. Install diodon.

That too is insane. Most users will get bitten numerous times before
they discover this solution, if at all.

On Lubuntu, diodon installed but didn't solve the problem. I had to
google and find a different app. More insanity.

[Bug 1272001] Re: Evolution black background in mail display

2016-01-20 Thread Mario Sánchez Prada
I found this bug today in our downstream platform that is still using
evolution 3.10.1, and thought it would be relevant to mention that this
has been fixed usptream for bug
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=731872, and also that the
patch from there applied cleanly on top of my 3.10.1, fixing the problem
seamlessly for me too.

So, perhaps you could consider reverting the hack into the CSS files for
those two themes (as it impacts GtkWindow and GtkPanel widgets in
general) and just backporting that patch on evolution itself too.

My 2 cents

There are alternative similar software such as Glipper, Klipper and Parcellite,

Dear Launchpad Janitor (janitor)!

I'm sorry but users need this bug to fixed completely in all supported Ubuntu

By all supported releases I mean especially LTS - 12.04 LTS, 14.04 LTS, 16.04

[Bug 11334] Re: MASTER Copy-Paste doesn't work if the source is closed before the paste

2016-01-20 Thread FMaz
Well until I can install an ISO of Ubuntu and, right out the box (ie.:
on the live CD), see that this problem no longer exist without requiring
any intervention from the end-user (such as guessing I was supposed to
install a software to get a basic OS functionnality to work as
expected), this bug is not to be marked as resolved.

This include copy/pasting any kind of content from and to any kind of
software.

If what ever software can fully resolve the issue, it should be included
in the distribution and activated by default. Until then, it is a waste
of time to ask for each user to install something themself.

+ any more. I tried on a separate wily into and it wasn't able to find it.

- TODO: I'm working on a simple reproducer now
+
+ Coming up with a reproducer was more difficult than I thought it would be.
+
+ 1. minidlna server setup
+ $ sudo apt-get install minidlna
+
+ Adjust /etc/minidlna.conf to have:
+ media_dir=A,/path/to/some/music/files
+
+ I believe everything else can be left as defaults.
+
+ 2. rhythmbox setup
+ $ sudo apt-get install grilo-plugins-0.2-extra rhythmbox-plugins dleyna-server
+
+ stop and start rhythmbox
+
+ go into Tools/Plugins and check Grilo media browser
+
+ This was all I needed to do initially for it to start working. Now it
+ now longer works. Android devices and 'kodi' from Ubuntu can find and
+ use it fine. Using d-feet and going to 'com.intel.dleyna-server' and
+ into com.intel.dLeynaServer.Manager and looking at 'GetServers' returns
+ nothing. Looking at Rescan() triggers traffic (as seen with tcpcump)
+ with the server (ie, there are responses). Looking at an strace of
+ /usr/lib/dleyna-server/dleyna-server-service shows it got a response
+ from the minidlna server. I guess the problem is in dleyna-server. There
+ is a new upstream version (0.5), but it is newer than what is in Debian.
+
+ Apparently minidlna is installed in Netgear devices and other places and
+ is quite popular.

Assignee: (unassigned) => Iain Lane (laney)

** Description changed:

  From irc:
08:28 < jdstrand> Laney: question for you-- just otoh, can you think of a
reason why dlna wouldn't work on xenial in rhythmbox any more when it has the
same upstream version as wily (and the Ubuntu delta didn't have any relevant
changes), grilo is the same as wily and grilo-plugins only has one irrelevant
change over wily?
08:29 < jdstrand> (it the dleyna code in grilo that handles this afaik)
08:30 < jdstrand> Laney: the dlna server just doesn't show up any more (but
daap still does)
  08:33 < jdstrand> I have both forked-daapd and minidlna exporting
08:33 < jdstrand> and rhythmbox used to see both on wily. on xenial, it only
sees daap

This may be a bug in grilo or grilo-plugins since, AIUI, it is the
dleyna code in grilo-plugins that handles this. It appears that grilo
relies on dleyna-server and dleyna-server isn't able to find the server
- any more. I tried on a separate wily into and it wasn't able to find it.

[Bug 1536409] [NEW] gimp move by holding space bar does not terminate

2016-01-20 Thread Gordon Fitch
Public bug reported:

package: gimp 2.8.14

release: Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS

circumstance: Running gimp in full screen mode, moving image around by
depressing space bar and using mouse. Cursor changes to fist. Note
that image was larger by a good bit than window / view of image.

expected behavior: On releasing space bar, cursor should resume previous
mode and moving mouse should not move image.

observed behavior: On releasing space bar, gimp remains in same state
(moving image). Moving the cursor outside the window does not release
the move either. Clicking mouse (either side) has no effect in window
or out. Nor does ESC, space, break, or any other keyboard action. In
full screen mode, it is necessary to reboot or restart the desktop to
get out of the situation.

[Bug 1512826] Re: when i delete .trash_1000 folder frm usb nautilus freeses

2016-01-20 Thread Sebastian Wiesendahl
The update from `wily-proposed` to glib2.0 (2.46.2-1ubuntu1) is fixing that
nautilus does not crash any more, but I can't move the files actually to the
trash. I get a message that I only can cancel or skip the attempt or delete the
file, but I really like to move it to the trash.

As in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1510587 I
am pointing with an symbolic link to the actual resource from within my
home folder to a mounted ext4 file system.

Is this a bug or rights problem?

I mount the file system like this in my /etc/fstab:

#
LABEL=Data/mnt/data   ext4defaults
0 2

This are my rights on /mnt/data:
$ ll /mnt/data/
drwxr-xr-x 5 root plugdev 4096 Jan 15 12:32 ./
drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 4096 Okt 19 11:14 ../
drwx-- 2 root plugdev 16384 Jan 15 12:16 lost+found/
drwxr-xr-x 3 root plugdev 4096 Jan 15 12:14 user/

and on the underlying folders I have these rights:
$ ll /mnt/data/user/sebastian
drwxrwx--- 18 sebastian sebastian 4096 Jan 18 16:43 ./
drwxr-xr-x 3 root plugdev 4096 Jan 15 12:14 ../
