  [ Sebastien Bacher ]
  * reduce the padding on flat entries, that's needed with gtk 3.18
otherwise the entry is displayed over new rows in listview when
editing, that's also what the gtk upstream themes are doing.
  * show the cursor index better in totem videos (LP: #1545026)

  * Override box shadow and border settings for linked dialog buttons so
they don't looked mashed together. Extra border radius is required

[Bug 1561803] [NEW] totem (16.04) is incorrectly displaying menu instead of CSD

2016-03-24 Thread fossfreedom
Public bug reported:

I understand that Canonical have patched totem to display a menu in the
global menu/window decoration for Unity and leave the app-menu displayed
for Gnome-Shell.

For every other desktop environment though this patch breaks the
application look and feel - you see the window decoration - menu - CSD.

That's just plain wrong.

The logic should be - "for all desktop environments use CSD EXCEPT
Unity"

Even for Unity the patch should respect if the environment variable
GTK_CSD=1 is set i.e. force the use of CSD apps in unity.

[Bug 1561784] [NEW] Gnome terminal does not revert to normal window after F11

2016-03-24 Thread Eggsome
Public bug reported:

To reproduce on 16.04:
- Start a normal terminal
- Press F11 for fullscreen mode
- Press F11 again
The terminal window will be maximized instead of returning to it's original
small size.

This is really quite inconvenient, as I use this feature all the time on
14.04.

I hope this is fixed before release.

[Bug 1561781] [NEW] totem (16.04) is missing its application menu

Public bug reported:

Totem is supposed to have an appmenu when running in gnome-shell and

At the moment totem has a menubar displayed below the CSD.

Re: [Bug 1561627] After days of uptime, apps do not receive positionupdates.

2016-03-24 Thread costales
The battery is perfect (98% and 45% of average).

The phone is coming from a fly mode in the night.

There is not a number of days. Something is affecting it (maybe network?)
and when you open an application, it didn't get a position.

The first time this happened was in March of the 2015 with HERE, it didn't
get a position and it needed a phone reboot.

I haven't a behavior for reproduce, I am sorry. I will try to use the tool
you mentioned and if it is happening again to me, I'll not restart for
analize it :)

[Bug 1561627] Re: After days of uptime, apps do not receive position updates.

2016-03-24 Thread Thomas Voß
I'm not questioning if you are observing an issue. I'm trying to track down
the issue
as fast as possible hence why I'm asking for data to narrow down the error
condition.

I just flashed a Krillin with latest rc-proposed and will use it over
the next couple of days.

 * Do you happen to remember how many days of uptime we are talking about?
 * Did you have the phone in active use? Did the battery level ever become
critically low?

[Bug 1561698] [NEW] Build hangs on s390x

2016-03-24 Thread Iain Lane
Public bug reported:

The build reproducibly hangs on the buildds on s390x.

It's always at the same place, in the "642026" test.

https://git.gnome.org/browse/glib/tree/glib/tests/642026.c

I don't think it's this testsuite that is at fault though - the same
thing builds on other Ubuntu architectures and for Debian s390x.

The last successful build was 2.47.6-1 which used "Kernel version: Linux
z13-019 4.3.0-6-generic #17-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jan 11 21:29:24 UTC 2016
s390x"

and the latest failure was 2.47.92-1 "Kernel version: Linux z13-012
4.4.0-15-generic #31-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 18 19:07:12 UTC 2016 s390x".

[Bug 1560162] Re: Xenial: scaling is horribly out on xps13 install session

2016-03-24 Thread Iain Lane
I got asked to look at this bug.

Happy to report that I have fixed the bulk of it, with help from Alberts
Muktupāvels. The fixes are in the gnome-3-18 branch of metacity upstream
too, so other people will benefit from them. And now uploaded to Xenial
of course.

That fixes window placement and decoration scaling on hidpi machines,
and for us in only-ubiquity mode.

There's a remaining race condition in ubiquity-dm. If you start the
applets, notify-osd and so on before unity-settings-daemon has applied
the scaling factor needed then some bugs happen like panel applets not
showing, notification showing with large text, etc. Adding a sleep in
bin/ubiquity-dm after the spawning of u-s-d works around this, but I
don't know if there's a better solution such as a signal to hook into
and block on. I'm assigning the ubiquity component to cyphermox to
hopefully look at that. desrt might be able to advise you, maybe.

[Bug 1561658] [NEW] “Cannot fork” and "Resource temporary unavailable"

2016-03-24 Thread Breno Leitão
Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu 16.04/ppc64el, the cgroup for a user session (bash) inherits
from a sshd.service, when the user logs into the machine using SSH.

This causes the amount of process to be limited by
/etc/systemd/system/conf DefaultTasksMax=512

This does not seem to happen on amd64. This is a cgroup tree diff:

On x64, bash (in this case, PID 19405 ) spawned by sshd belongs to CGROUP
session-5.scope->user-1003.slice->user.slice:

└─user.slice
  ├─user-1000.slice
  │ ├─session-1.scope
  │ │ ├─634 sshd: brenohl [priv]
  │ │ ├─660 sshd: brenohl@pts/0
  │ │ └─661 -bash
  │ └─user@1000.service
  │ ├─636 /lib/systemd/systemd --user
  │ └─637 (sd-pam)
  └─user-1003.slice
├─session-5.scope
│ ├─19379 sshd: gromero [priv]
│ ├─19404 sshd: gromero@pts/1
│ ├─19405 -bash

However, in ppc64le, bash (in this case, PID 1913), spawned by sshd
belongs to CGROUP ssh.service->system.slice->-.slice:

-.slice
├─1720 /sbin/cgmanager -m name=systemd
├─init.scope
└─system.slice
  ├─dbus.service
  │ └─1699 /usr/bin/dbus-daemon --system --address=systemd: --nofork
--nopidfile --systemd-activation
  ├─cron.service
  │ └─1702 /usr/sbin/cron -f
  ├─ifup@eth0.service
  │ └─1833 /sbin/dhclient
  ├─accounts-daemon.service
  │ └─1717 /usr/lib/accountsservice/accounts-daemon
  ├─system-serial\x2dgetty.slice
  │ └─serial-getty@hvc0.service
  │ └─1875 /sbin/agetty --keep-baud 115200 38400 9600 hvc0 vt220
  ├─systemd-journald.service
  │ └─1382 /lib/systemd/systemd-journald
  ├─systemd-timesyncd.service
  │ └─1639 /lib/systemd/systemd-timesyncd
  ├─ssh.service
  │ ├─1863 /usr/sbin/sshd -D
  │ ├─1897 sshd: gromero [priv]
  │ ├─1912 sshd: gromero@pts/0
  │ ├─1913 -bash

Having the user session associated with the systemd cgroups
(/system.slice/ssh.service) instead of normal user/session cgroups (as
user-.slice/session-5.scope), causes the process to be limited to the
systemd TasksMax limit, thus, causing "Cannot fork" and "Resource temporary
unavailable" problems when the amount of processes reaches this 512 limit.

Gustavo Romero has more details about this problem, and will comment
soon.

Re: [Bug 1561627] Ubuntu Phone: GPS is not returning positions toapps

2016-03-24 Thread costales
I could tell you that this is happening in every device and image and from
ever. I found this bug 8 months ago and it persists.

It is happening in my:
- bq in stable and rc-proposed.
- mx4 in stable.
- nexus 4 in rc-proposed.

It is so random behavior, the app will not get ever a pos. Probably a GPS
app like HERE or uNav will show the issue more easy, because it will never
get a first position. It is like the GPS was locked.

I never used that tool. I hope someone could report a dump of this. If I
can, I'll do too :)

Which device/image version are you using?

If you have a device in an error state, would you mind attaching to the
location service with gdb and producing a backtrace to help in
debugging? See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/location-
service/+bug/1468020/comments/4 for instructions.

[Bug 1468020] Re: Two GPS compatible apps conflict and loose GPS

2016-03-24 Thread Thomas Voß
Some background first: Applications do not compete or have control over
the GPS at all. Location service is handling all of the access. With
that, an app is not able to block or exclusively own the GPS. There are
multiple other reasons why the apps could appear to not receive any
updates, though. That being said: We have problems reproducing the bug
on latest rc-proposed images. If someone is able to reproduce, it would
be really helpful if we could get gdb backtraces of both apps and the
location service. Please see:

  http://dirac.org/linux/gdb/06-Debugging_A_Running_Process.php

for a good overview of how to attach to a running process. Once
attached, you should enter "t a a bt full" in gdb, and pastebin the
trace(s). Please note that you need to execute gdb with elevated
privileges (sudo) to be able to attach.

[Bug 1561368] [NEW] inconsistent behaviour when selecting entry in side pane, view changes from fit width to fit page

2016-03-24 Thread Kevin Choi
Public bug reported:

Some PDF files are okay while others do exhibit this annoying behaviour.
One smaller file (200 pg) keeps 'fit width' while larger file (800 pg)
keeps changing to 'fit page' when selecting an entry in the side pane.
No matter what I do to 800 pg file, it keeps the same behaviour.
