Confirming on 15.10. No trick works for me. FYI tried to reformat the USB drive a couple of times using gparted and I get there: "Partition(s) 1 on /dev/sdb have been written, but we have been unable to inform the kernel of the change, probably because it/they are in use. As a result, the old partition(s) will remain in use. I've observed RSS of both xfce4-power-manager and NetworkManager grow by over 1.5MB from usage at start up and have now dropped back to more than 1MB below usage at start up. These observations were made with swap disabled, so they should be accurate. [Bug 1562140] [NEW] When importing raw+jpg files shotwell needlessly creates _embedded.jpg files
Public bug reported: I have my camera (Canon D700) configured to record RAW+JPG files. So this generates, say, IMG_1234.CR2 and IMG_1234.JPG. However when importing these to Shotwell it goes and creates IMG_1234_embedded.jpg as well. This is not needed and wastes disk space and slows down importing.
