[Bug 1573755] Re: Compose and dead keys stopped working
I can reproduce this XIM problem on a system which was upgraded to 16.04, but not on a fresh Ubuntu 16.04. However: If I create and switch to a new user, the problem is not present. In other words: Some leftovers from previous version(s) in the home directory of my main user prevent the XIM input method from working properly. Resetting the gtk-im-module gsettings key, as mentioned by Piotr, doesn't help for me. Neither does removing of the whole gsettings database ~/.config/dconf/user For the record: On Ubuntu and most flavors, switching to some other input method can be done from the Language Support GUI. Doing so changes the ~/.xinputrc file instead of removing it. ** Summary changed: - Compose and dead keys stopped working + Compose and dead keys stopped working with XIM after upgrade to 16.04 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573755 Title: Compose and dead keys stopped working with XIM after upgrade to 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1573755/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1602900] [NEW] libzmq3 crashes when 'getifaddrs()' is unavailable
Public bug reported: libzmq3 crashes when used on a computer where the kernel is unable to provide any information about network-device addresses. This is uncommon with normal Ubuntu configurations. But is currently always the case with Ubuntu as run under the new Windows Subsystem for Linux. This has already been diagnosed and fixed upstream: https://github.com/jupyter/notebook/issues/1331 I have backported the fix; an updated package (based on the stock Ubuntu 14.04 package but with the backport as an added patch) is available in this PPA: https://launchpad.net/~aseering/+archive/ubuntu/wsl This has been reported in a couple other bugtrackers. Even with the fix in a PPA, there's still some amount of user confusion: https://github.com/jupyter/notebook/issues/1331 https://github.com/Microsoft/BashOnWindows/issues/185 It would be great if this fix could be pulled into Ubuntu 14.04 directly, so that people stop hitting this bug. ** Affects: zeromq3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to zeromq3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1602900 Title: libzmq3 crashes when 'getifaddrs()' is unavailable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zeromq3/+bug/1602900/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
