[Bug 1619867] Re: Changes to Startup Application Preferences not being remembered in Ubuntu Unity 16.04

2016-09-06 Thread Robert Orzanna
Dear Gunnar,

Indeed I used the GUI to create the "Laptop Lid Indicator" startup file
which then seemed to have created "bash.desktop".

Should I maybe try to create entries manually from the command-line and
see if they persist upon reboot?

disappointed it is actually not possible. I was about to file a bug but

[Bug 1618370] Re: nautilus does not show external drives in sidebar if plugged in on reboot

2016-09-06 Thread Rocko
The upstream bug is marked a duplicate of
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=765924, "Improve external
drives detection" (which specifically mentions the issue of drives not
being recognised if they are plugged in at login), and the fix according
to this bug appears to be in commit
https://git.gnome.org/browse/gtk%2B/commit/?id=55751fc.

So I got the ubuntu source for gtk+3.0-3.29.9, and it looks like it
already has that commit in it. Firstly, it includes these files:

./debian/patches/0001-Improve-external-drives-detection.patch
./.pc/0001-Improve-external-drives-detection.patch

and secondly, the changes in that commit is in the source for the files:

configure.ac
gtk/gtkplacessidebar.c
gtk/gtkplacesview.c

Does that mean the patch that is supposed to fix this bug is already
applied in Ubuntu's version of gtk+? If so, it doesn't work.

[Bug 1577198] Re: Imported gpg keys do not show up in Seahorse 3.18.0

2016-09-06 Thread Benjamin Bach
I agree, this was a very annoying bug as there are no error messages.
Keys are just missing, and importing the old pubring.gpg through both
Seahorse and Enigmail interfaces doesn't work.

The "bug" also affects Enigmail.

There is a nice description here regarding how to export your old
pubring.gpg to pubring.kbx, retaining owner trust:

[Bug 1620559] Re: /etc/resolv.conf is empty on snappy

2016-09-06 Thread Martin Pitt
This is a bug in systemd-networkd-resolvconf-update.service, apparently
/run/systemd/netif/state does not always get the received DNS servers.
This does not affect yakkety any more as this hackish thing is gone
entirely and replaced by resolved.

But it is still relevant for xenial which snappy is based on, so we need
to SRU it there.

Quick fix for snappy image builds until this is SRUed:

   sed '/^ExecStart=/ s!netif/state!& /run/systemd/netif/leases/* | sort
-u!' /lib/systemd/system/systemd-networkd-resolvconf-update.service

[Bug 1620559] [NEW] /etc/resolv.conf is empty on snappy

2016-09-06 Thread Oliver Grawert
Public bug reported:

we currently have no working resolver on snappy installs,
/etc/resolv.conf is the boilerplate one.

on the low level we seem to have DNS from the DHCP server though

[Bug 1620557] [NEW] weather.noaa.gov was shut down

2016-09-06 Thread Dmitry Shachnev
Public bug reported:

The provider which libgweather was using was shut down in August.

We need to update libgweather in Xenial to new upstream micro release,
3.18.2, which switched to a new METAR data provider.

Impact: this affects all libgweather-using applications, makes them
unable to retrieve weather data.

Test Case: make sure Weather applet in gnome-applets is able to display
weather information.
