[Bug 1624589] [NEW] Rhythmbox won't read CD Text on subsequent CDs

2016-09-16 Thread Dave Hartley
Public bug reported:

If I start Rhythmbox and insert a CD containing CD Text, the artist and
track information are correctly displayed. If I then eject that CD and
insert another one, Rhythmbox does NOT read the CD Text on the second
(or subsequent) CDs.

However, if I close and restart Rhythmbox, then re-insert the second CD,
the CD Text is read correctly.

I'm running Rhythmbox 3.3-1ubuntu7 on Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS 64-bit.

[Bug 1624320] [NEW] systemd-resolved appends 127.0.0.53 to resolv.conf alongside existing entries

2016-09-16 Thread Anders Kaseorg
Public bug reported:

systemd-resolved, or more precisely the hook script /lib/systemd/system
/systemd-resolved.service.d/resolvconf.conf, causes resolvconf to add
127.0.0.53 to the set of nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf alongside the
other nameservers. That makes no sense because systemd-resolved sets up
127.0.0.53 as a proxy for those other nameservers. The effect is
similar to bug 1624071 but for applications doing their own DNS lookups.
It breaks any DNSSEC validation that systemd-resolved tries to do;
applications will failover to the other nameservers, bypassing
validation failures. And it makes failing queries take twice as long.

/etc/resolv.conf should have only 127.0.0.53 when systemd-resolved is
active.

[Bug 1624317] [NEW] systemd-resolved breaks VPN with split-horizon DNS

2016-09-16 Thread Anders Kaseorg
Public bug reported:

I use a VPN configured with network-manager-openconnect-gnome in which a
split-horizon DNS setup assigns different addresses to some names inside
the remote network than the addresses seen for those names from outside
the remote network. However, systemd-resolved often decides to ignore
the VPN’s DNS servers and use the local network’s DNS servers to resolve
names (whether in the remote domain or not), breaking the split-horizon
DNS.

2016-09-16 Thread David Oxland
I've been watching the "Ubuntu-Software" since I fresh installed 16.04 on
another machine.
My complaint was the same; offerings meager.
Now after an upgrade on machine #2 the same software tool appeared.

Then I tried "Ubuntu Software Center 15.12" and it is the full meal deal. All
that I expected albeit in a different GUI form from the 14.04 that I was used
to.
select " ubuntu Software Center" from Unity search your computer button and I
locked it to the unity launcher. It was there with a different name all ready
to go
Works for me.

Argh!

if [ "$(systemctl --user show -p PartOf --value)" = "graphical-
session.target" ]; then

The systemctl --user call is missing a $unit argument, so this loop
never actually worked.

[Bug 1618886] Re: unity-gtk-module.service is racy; session services don't stop if session terminates

2016-09-16 Thread Martin Pitt
> sudo killall -9 Xorg

This causes some havoc -- as this does not actually stop anything in the
session, random services just start failing the next time they try to
talk to X. Due to our Restart=on-failure, these units then try to
restart a few times until they hit the restart limit and go to "failed".

So this is rather rude -- just log out instead, or do "kill -9 -1" to
kill your user processes.

That said, I think it's ok that services go to "failed" as long as the
next login properly restarts them, which brings us to..

> In general any script which is on graphical-session doesn't get
stopped.

Indeed this does kill ubuntu-session.target and its associated services
like unity7.service. But we don't configure a requirement in the other
direction, i. e. graphical-session.target does not stop when ubuntu-
session.target stops.

/usr/lib/gnome-session/run-systemd-session has a loop to clean up failed
units, but appparently that's not wide enough yet.

[Bug 1623901] Re: DUT does not locate. GPS is not working.

2016-09-16 Thread Dave Morley
This has been tested on a krillin.

I get a location on initial boot after 2.5 minutes
On subsequent reboot I get a location within 10 seconds of starting an app I
also get a location in the today and nearby scopes.

Accuracy is within 10 metres

[Bug 1602737] Re: PCI RoCE Interface could not be renamed from default name with link file

2016-09-16 Thread ChristianEhrhardt
Adding Linux as it seems (at least) to be related to the kernel and might need
a bisect followed by a SRU for Xenial.
Also once 4.6 is ready this should be verified and closed on Yakkety.
