[Bug 887821] Re: "Show copy dialog" right click launcher entry doesn't work (on nautilus copy)
I'm using 16.04.1 and once I've used "Show Desktop" while copying something there's no way to get progress windows back unless I logout/login (or was it reboot even?). Tried all workarounds I could find, messed around with wmctrl (which worked nicely on everything else except progress windows) and tried out "window-list" applet to no avail. However, I found one way -- to install compizconfig-settings-manager and under "General Options" untick "Hide Skip Taskbar Windows". [Bug 1629362] [NEW] Invalid Preview
Public bug reported: Malformed png files can make nautilus try to eat all my memory when it tries to preview them. the png is here: http://www.filehosting.org/file/details/605623/xkcd1608.png Version of Nautilus: 1:3.18.4.is.3.14.3-0ubuntu5 Version of Ubuntu : Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS What I expected to happen: When I open Nautilus, some sort of preview or a generic icon appears for the image. What happens: Nautilus will take over more and more ram and swap until the entire system crashes, or nautilus is closed from the shell. Note this behavior doesn't occur when the downloads folder is opened in any file dialog. Additionally, similar behavior occurs when I try to open the file in GIMP, but GIMP has the dignity of crashing before consuming too much ram. [Bug 1628687] Re: Assertion failure when PID 1 receives a zero-length message over notify socket
This bug was fixed in the package systemd - 231-9 --- systemd (231-9) unstable; urgency=medium * pid1: process zero-length notification messages again. Just remove the assertion, the "n" value was not used anyway. This fixes a local DoS due to unprocessed/unclosed fds which got introduced by the previous fix. [Bug 1629190] [NEW] fstab causes duplicate entries for mounts which then are desynchonized as to mount state
Public bug reported: using the /media/$USER/mountpoint support i wanted to show a squashfs file that i mounted during boot in Places. Simple (thought i) place this in fstab: /media/i30817/Huggin/Documents/Games/playstation_1.sqsh /mnt/Playstation squashfs ro,nofail,noexec,nodev,nosuid,users,x-gvfs-show 0 0 any user can mount it, it is no using /media/ mounts to minimize the possibility of 'automounters' conflict, what could go wrong? Then i realized that the kernel (maybe?) creates another mountpoint from the squash file to /dev/loop0 when i or the root (on boot) mounts the file. I suppose they're supposed to be transparently coupled, umounting the 'real' dir removes the loopback and that is fine. What's not fine is: 1. both show in Places in nautilus 2. on boot, if i don't specify 'noauto' (which i don't want), there is the very real possibility that nautilus gets confused and when i click on playstation it tells me that 'playstation_1.sqsh is already mounted by /dev/loop0', and only shows the option to 'mount' and not 'unmount' (even if it's already mounted as a simple cmd line tests) if i right click on the Playstation place item. This is very similar to this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/442130 but of course the current workaround of using UUIDs does not work since a squashfs mount is in fact, not a partition and therefore has no UUID and i need users anyway. The bug upstream refereed in that report was closed 'fixed' but i think it was only partially fixed. Could you open a new bug report? I never could deal with opening bug reports on gnome, very user unfriendly place that bug report site is. [Bug 1573755] Re: Compose and dead keys stopped working with XIM after upgrade to 16.04
I upgraded from Trusty to Xenial. Before the upgrade, the compose key was working in all applications, except maybe Torchat (which I hadn't used for months before the upgrade). After the upgrade: *Konqueror works properly when I use the Dvorak layout and the compose key. If, however, I switch to Greek and attempt to type an accented iota, I get an accented c (ć) instead. (The accent is a dead key in the Greek layout.) *In Kate, Kwrite, and Kmail, it works only if the resulting character code is less than 256 (I can type ÿ, but not Ÿ, which I have to copy from Konqueror). *In Firefox, Torchat, and Konsole, it does not work at all. I hit compose and two keys that should make a character, but get nothing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573755 Title: Compose and dead keys stopped working with XIM after upgrade to 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1573755/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
