[Bug 1631560] [NEW] Narrow spacing of icons in Files affects file names

2016-10-07 Thread Ari Torhamo
Public bug reported:

When I upgraded to Ubuntu 16.10 beta a few days ago, horizontal distance
between icons in Files and on the desktop got much smaller. Because of
this there's less room horizontally for the file names, and many words
got their last letters cut off to the next row. In many file names full
rows now alternate with rows of only a couple of cut off letters. Name
fields with longer file names also look disproportionately narrow and
tall now. I think the spacing should be changed back to what it was, or
at least it should be user selectable.

[Bug 1623198] Re: Masking and then disabling dbus.service causes the system to freeze

No, switching to the console for example with CTRL + ALT + F1 doesn't
work anymore (and the freeze causes also that constantly the last frame
before the freeze is shown).

[Bug 1506166] Re: Bracketed paste should be per-terminal [PATCH]

2016-10-07 Thread Iain Lane
(subscribed sponsors to take care of #14 and #15 - thanks, Alexander)

Egmont, if you're still reading this, I'm happy to help with uploading
backports of fixes to vte in older releases if you're willing to help
identify the commits.

I get a lot of bug mail and there's a good chance I'd miss it if you
post it here or on another bug - so if you do take this up then please
either subscribe me to the bug or email me (address in LP profile).
Cheers.

[Bug 1623198] [NEW] Masking and then disabling dbus.service causes the system to freeze

2016-10-07 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I'm using Ubuntu 16.10 dev with systemd-sysv 231-6 and if I'm executing
the command "systemctl mask dbus.service" and then "systemctl stop
dbus.service" the system does freeze after a few seconds (even switching
to the console is not possible anymore). But booting then the system
works fine without any freezes while dbus got successfully disabled.

** Affects: systemd (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Won't Fix
