[Bug 1629355] Re: Bad user experience: Missing "recent documents" in save dialogs

2016-10-11 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Can you give examples of apps that show 'Recent' in the Save dialog?

I checked Text Editor (gedit) in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and it shows 'Recent'
for Open but not for Save.

[Bug 1632495] [NEW] error storing IMAP folders: "Error moving messages: unexpected server response"

2016-10-11 Thread Nuno Ferreira
Public bug reported:

I have a single IMAP (Microsoft Exchange) account configured.

After deleting a message, when I try to select a different folderfrom
the one where I deleted the message I get the error mentioned above
"Error moving messages: unexpected server response".

If I remove the folders.db file as mentioned in some old bug reports,
and restart evolution, the error is not displayed anymore.

I have camel debug logs, please let me know if you need anything else. I
can reproduce the problem every time I try.

[Bug 1622880] Re: nautilus crashes on Ubuntu 16.10

2016-10-11 Thread Oliver Smith
This happened for me after an update from Ubuntu Gnome 16.04.

I fixed it by:

* Purging nautilus with apt-get
* Removing ~/.config/nautilus

I suspect the last step may fix it alone but I've not been able to
recreate the initial issue to verify.

[Bug 1632428] [NEW] Update gnome-settings-daemon to 3.22

2016-10-11 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

Impact
==
gnome-settings-daemon 3.22.1 is a new bugfix release in the stable 3.22 series

- Fixes crash when sharing plugin exits (LP: #1630853)
- Fix issue where screen was not blanked when locked after screensaver was
inhibited
- And a few other minor things

https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-settings-daemon/tree/NEWS?h=gnome-3-22
https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-settings-daemon/log?h=gnome-3-22

Test Case
=
Ensure automatic screen locking still works
Check for a gnome-settings-daemon crash after log out and log back in

Regression Potential
===
Low. This update will be included in all GNOME 3.22 distros.
Ubuntu GNOME is the only Ubuntu flavor that uses gnome-settings-daemon now,
except for the shared schemas which were not touched in this update.

[Bug 1616943] Re: Can't auth against U1 in g-s

2016-10-11 Thread Jan Johansson
Yesterday I tried to install VLC non-free from Gnome Software and were
asked to login to Ubuntu One, which do not work as it keeps saying
Password or email is wrong. Obviously neither email or password are
worng when I'm able to write here, after signed in through Ubuntu One in
web browser - People above agree that this is a bug.

But wouldn't it be an idea to actually inform people of this through
computer magazines or sites like
https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/ were people go for
help setting up Ubuntu after install - so that they don't have to waste
time running around on the net trying to figure out why this happens -
since developers here have known about this since August 25.

It wouldn't take you more than a few minutes posting: "There is a bug in
the Gnome Software, which disables the login to Ubuntu One - we are
working on a solution. Please be patient. We will come out with and
update very soon!"

This kind of thing annoys me, it were one of the reasons I switched to
linux from Win7 after MS came out with their Win10 and tried to force
people to update - I have used and supported/build/repaired computers
for over 25 years. I never liked windows, but had to use it because of
customers.

I just came from Ubuntu forums, where people are asking this question,
but nobody here thinks its a good idea to answer them!

https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2335497

An update there on the progress of a solution would be an idea!

[Bug 1632270] [NEW] Clicking on Save button doesn't quit gedit

2016-10-11 Thread johnmne
Public bug reported:

When you edit a text file using 'gedit' and tries to quit the program using the
X button, a dialog appears asking:
"
Save changes to document <...> before closing?
If you don't save, changes from the last <...> minutes will be permanently lost.
"

And 3 button appear:
1. "Close without Saving"
2. "Cancel"
3. "Save"

If you click "Save", 'gedit' should save the text file and quit immediately.
Instead, 'gedit' saves the file and leaves the document open (it doesn't quit).

Note: In the above experiment, 'gedit' was editing a single file only.

Does "Eject" also behave same? It should really detach without re-probe.
If "Eject" works, it's the answer -- why there are two distinct entries.

(Maybe there aren't on GNOME... It exists on XFCE4, at least.)

The "Eject" button works (Gnome) but it only unmount the partition and
does not actually deactivate the disk.

If the disk is connected to an usb 2.0 port "Safely Remove Drive" works,
turning off the disk.

Oliver, this seems like a regression with xhci (with respect to ehci).
Is there a known fix / workaround?

I also remember that one of my USB disks behaves like this.

One workaround is to attach the HDD to an USB 2.0 port.

Hi Oliver,

The eject command just unmount the partitions.

medina:~ # eject /dev/sdb

systemd-journalctl log:

/run/media/luis/LUIS (device 8:17 is not mounted)

Jun 30 13:12:50 medina.novell.com udisksd[2047]: Cleaning up mount point

However, if detach the hdd it gets remounted in my USB 3.0 port.

[Bug 1632123] [NEW] Nautilus "Open in Terminal" is performing some useless operations and causes an abnormal CPU activity on opening terminal

2016-10-11 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When i select "Open in Terminal" from Nautilus menu, the terminal opens
in the current folder (as expected) and the cursor rapidly blinks for a
few seconds, ignoring attempts to type anything at the prompt. During
this period, the whole system freezes a bit and the processor usage can
reach 40% on a 6th generation Intel Core i7.

I am using Ubuntu GNOME 16.04.1.

nautilus:
  Installed: 1:3.18.4.is.3.14.3-0ubuntu5
