2016-10-12 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
Now this is very strange, I restarted my machine, it didn't work. But
after restarting it the second time for some reason it started working
as it should so I assume that the patch does work, just something odd
happened somewhere, but it is all fine now.

[Bug 1631994] Re: Update evolution to 3.22.1

2016-10-12 Thread Jeremy Bicha
** Description changed:

- .
+ Impact
+ ==
+ * New upstream bugfix release (LP: #1631994)
+ * Bump minimum evolution-data-server to 3.22.1
+ * Drop git patches applied in new version
+ * Add git_fix-saving-email-signatures.patch:
+ - Backport patch from 3.22 branch to fix adding or editing email signatures
+
+ https://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/tree/NEWS/?h=gnome-3-22
+ https://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/log/?h=gnome-3-22
+
+ There are quite a few changes in this update: many are related to the
+ switch to WebKit2 but some changes are fixes for older issues.
+
+ Evolution is now included by default in only the Ubuntu GNOME flavor but
+ is popular among users of other flavors too.
+
+ Test Case
+ =
+ Ensure Evolution still works. Try email, calendar and contacts. Try adding an
email signature. See http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=772150
+
+ Regression Potential
+
+ Low. Evolution has a very large code base. To make this first SRU easier, I
backported several commits to the previous yakkety update. I think the fixes
outweigh the risk here.

[Bug 1632772] [NEW] GNOME on Wayland does not start from LightDM

2016-10-12 Thread Fred
Public bug reported:

When picking GNOME on Wayland as session and attempting to login from
LightDM then it fails, all you see is a black screen with a blinking
cursor.

However, manually running:
$ dbus-run-session gnome-shell --display-server --wayland

[Bug 1632767] [NEW] yakkety: desktop ISO fails to reboot after install: Failed deactivating swap

2016-10-12 Thread Jason Gerard DeRose
Public bug reported:

The 20161012.1 yakkety desktop ISO fails to reboot after the install
completes (see attached screenshot).

Tested on QEMU in BIOS and UEFI mode, which is where the screenshot is
from. Same thing is seemingly happening on hardware (reboot hangs),
although I don't see this particular debugging output on hardware.

The systemd related logging might be a red haring... I'm not sure this
is actually a systemd bug, just that it seems the correct starting
point.

Thanks!

[Bug 1629355] Re: Bad user experience: Missing "recent documents" in save dialogs

2016-10-12 Thread Gerd Stolpmann
Just had another look. So, my original statement that other gtk-3 apps
show "Recent" for Save is probably wrong (also checked eog and evince).
Not sure what made me believe that. Only gtk-2 apps do (e.g. gimp,
inkscape, chromium, libreoffice, all checked under Ubuntu 16.04).

Nevertheless, it's an inconsistency of the user experience.

[Bug 1632681] [NEW] SonicWall NetExteder broken by new nsswitch.conf configuration

2016-10-12 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

In Ubuntu Yakkety the following line in /etc/nsswitch.conf breaks DNS
resolution via the VPN tunnel created by Sonicwall NetExtender application.

hosts: files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] resolve [!UNAVAIL=return]
dns

Changing this line to:

hosts: files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] resolve
[UNAVAIL=return] dns

or

hosts: files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns
[!UNAVAIL=return] resolve

I have not found documentation on what "resolve" means, so im not sure this
lines makes global sense, but it solve my dns problem. If i have to guess its
another systemd incarnation.

As a side note NetExtender modifies /etc/resolv.conf and adds the VPN
DNS servers as the first entries. So when NetExtender is connected the
first lines in /etc/resolv.conf contains the VPN DNS IP and only after
there is the local dnsmasq entry.

Sadly i could not found which package creates this file as "dpkg-query
-S /etc/nsswitch.conf" returns no results on my system.

[Bug 1600589] Re: Blank entries in gnome-software

2016-10-12 Thread sudodus
It works for me with the Lubuntu amd86 Yakkety release candidate in my
computer too.

Maybe the problem depends on the hardware for example the graphics chip,
or maybe there is a time-out limit, so that slow computers will not show
the graphical bells and whistles.

[Bug 1593379] Re: systemd 229-4ubuntu6 ignores net.ifnames=0 on USB or /etc/udev/rules.d/80-net-setup-link.rules being a /dev/null symlink

2016-10-12 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package systemd - 229-4ubuntu11

---
systemd (229-4ubuntu11) xenial; urgency=medium

  * 73-usb-net-by-mac.rules: Split kernel command line import line.
Reportedly this makes the rule actually work on some platforms. Thanks
Alp Toker! (LP: #1593379)
  * fsckd: Do not exit on idle timeout if there are still clients connected
(Closes: #788050, LP: #1547844)
  * libnss-*.prerm: Remove possible [key=value] options from NSS modules as
well. (LP: #1625584)
  * Backport networkd 231. Compared to 229 this has a lot of fixes, some of
which we need for good netplan support. Backporting them individually
would be a lot more work and a lot less robust, and we did not use/support
networkd in 16.04 so far. Drop the other network related patches as they
are included in this backport now. (LP: #1627641)
  * debian/tests/networkd: Re-enable the the DHCPv6 tests. The DHCPv6
behaviour is fixed with the above backport now.
  * pid1: process zero-length notification messages again. Just remove the
assertion, the "n" value was not used anyway. This fixes a local DoS due
to unprocessed/unclosed fds which got introduced by the previous fix.
(LP: #1628687)
  * pid1: Robustify manager_dispatch_notify_fd(). If
manager_dispatch_notify_fd() fails and returns an error then the handling
of service notifications will be disabled entirely leading to a
compromised system. (side issue of LP: #1628687)
