[Bug 1506744] Re: Newly installed applications do not show in the dash

2016-10-18 Thread Varun
I finally found out why the installed Applications were not showing up.
Check for Filters options while searching and select the Applications
button.

Mine was not selected so it was listing due to filters applied.

[Bug 1634714] [NEW] ASUS T300 CHI Keyboard Fn Mappings

2016-10-18 Thread Dalton Durst
Public bug reported:

I believe that this is in the incorrect queue, but Launchpad would not
allow me to move it to udev.

I am submitting this bug report following the directions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Hotkeys/Troubleshooting

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System ->
About Ubuntu
Ubuntu 16.10

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or
by checking in Software Center
  Installed: 231-9git1

The Fn+F5,F6,F7, and F9 combinations do not produce the desired behavior
of changing screen brightness or toggling the touchpad on the ASUS T300
Chi bluetooth keyboard. They do not produce any response whatsoever.

They key events (as according to evtest) and their functions are listed
below.

type 2 (EV_REL), code 9 (REL_MISC), value 16 : Brightness Down (Fn + F5)
type 2 (EV_REL), code 9 (REL_MISC), value 32 : Brightness Up (Fn + F6)
type 2 (EV_REL), code 9 (REL_MISC), value 53 : Disable LCD Backlight (Fn + F7)
type 2 (EV_REL), code 9 (REL_MISC), value 107 : Disable Touchpad (Fn + F9)

Please let me know if I missed anything, this is my first bug report.

[Bug 1634442] [NEW] GUI session crashes on boot

2016-10-18 Thread Joost Ringoot
Public bug reported:

I am trying to run Weston Wayland X server, in an attempt to get decent
graphics performance.

This is about an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 (driver from PPA
https://launchpad.net/~graphics-drivers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa `nvidia-370`
(370.28)) and a Phillips bdm4065uc.

Performance tests with 4k video are horrible in standard mir-xorg,
lightdm/gdm, unity and gnome sessions.

But I noticed performance is excellent when running steamOS (debian 8.6 based),
this one uses XWayland.
So I tried to get the same on Ubuntu but failed.

[Bug 1633757] Re: Update file-roller to 3.22.1

2016-10-18 Thread Martin Pitt
Hello Jeremy, or anyone else affected,

Accepted file-roller into yakkety-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/file-
roller/3.22.1-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1634354] [NEW] Copy and paste keyboard shortcuts on right click menu do not work

2016-10-18 Thread Chris McFarland
Public bug reported:

Copy and Paste with the C and P keys on the right click menu does not
work in GNOME Terminal 3.18.3 (included with Ubuntu 16.04). The ability
to copy and paste this way used to work in the version of GNOME Terminal
included with Ubuntu 14.04 (3.6.2, I think?), so this is a regression
from that version.

The keys for the other menu options (Open Terminal (T), Profiles (R),
Read-Only (O), Show Menubar (M)) can be restored by going into
preferences and activating the checkbox for "Enable mnemonics (such as
Alt+F to open the File menu)" -- however, copy and paste are not
included.

I frequently paste using the menu key (menu key, P), so this is a very
annoying bug that I run into every day now that I've upgraded from
14.04.

Expect to happen:

Pressing P when the right-click context menu is open should paste from
the clipboard. Pressing C when the menu is open should copy selected
text to the clipboard.

What happened instead:

No response when pressing the keys. No underline for an alternate key is
shown either. Presumably the shortcuts ("mnemonics"?) for these entries
are missing in the code.

[Bug 1634249] [NEW] Since upgrade to Gnome Ubuntu 16.10, my mouse is slow and cursor small on gnome shell menus

2016-10-18 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I upgraded 2 days ago to Gnome Ubuntu 16.10.
Since then, my mouse is 2x slower and my cursor is 2x smaller...:
- during Gnome startup (about 1 or 2 seconds on my system)
- on Gnome Shell menus

The cursor gets back to normal after I open a GTK application (such as
Nautilus, but not Google Chrome). But the mouse is still slow anyway.
I have an Asus UX305 with an HiDPI screen (3200x1800).
