[Bug 1637959] [NEW] Gnome Font Viewer (gucharmap) displays characters white-on-white when global dark theme is on

2016-11-02 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I use a dark theme globally, and gucharmap has a problem with dark
themes. The problem is that in the character table, only the currently
selected character is visible, whereas all other characters are
displayed as white glyphs on white background, therefore, are invisible.

I'm attaching a screenshot with this effect visible. You can observe
that U+0034 DIGIT FOUR is the character currently selected, and it is
the only one that can be seen in the table.

I'm running Xubuntu 16.04.1 LTS. The theme I'm using is called Add-
Waiter (which is basically a dark-by-default version of Adwaita), and
the version number of gucharmap is visible in the About dialog (exact
version of the package is 1:3.18.2-1ubuntu1).

** Affects: gucharmap (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided

2016-11-02 Thread madbiologist
This could be this old bug
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=729768 which was fixed in
gstreamer 1.4, or it could be
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=770528 which is fixed in

[Bug 1614050] Re: Window depth order messed up

2016-11-02 Thread Alberts Muktupāvels
You are using old/buggy version. Fix will be available in
1:3.18.7-0ubuntu0.2 version.

Please use/test version from my ppa. Your reported problem with GNOME
Terminal is most likely same problem that should be fixed.

If you have other bugs, please report as separate bugs. Ideally with
steps how to reproduce. What dialog? From what application? Is it server
side decorated or client side? Button from were? In decorations (close,
maximize...) or button in application window?

[Bug 1633824] Re: nautilus ignores trash on external drives

2016-11-02 Thread cl-netbox
I am not sure if this is a GNOME upstream problem, because as I
mentioned in my bug report #1633824 : This does not happen in other
Linux distributions with GNOME 3.20 desktop environment when using the
Nautilus 3.20 file manager.

[Bug 1633826] Re: nautilus desktop crashes when called with --no-desktop

2016-11-02 Thread Fork
Hm, weird. There was no message this time when the desktop disappeared.

I have included the output of the nautilus startup.

** Description changed:

When calling nautilus with the --no-desktop flag in Ubuntu 16.10 while
it is already running, the existing desktop stops responding. All icons
disappear, and the desktop doesn't react to mouse input.

- nautilus throws the following error:
+ nautilus may or may not throw the following error:

  (nautilus:3723): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **:
  g_dbus_interface_skeleton_unexport: assertion
  'interface_->priv->connections != NULL' failed

  (nautilus:3723): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **:
  g_dbus_interface_skeleton_unexport: assertion
  'interface_->priv->connections != NULL' failed

This is relevant since e.g. the Dropbox indicator calls nautilus this
way, resulting in the desktop crashing.

** Attachment added: "Output during nautilus startup"

It may have been a software-bug on the Finnish (YLE) radio station.
Please see the last msg on https://github.com/haecker-felix/gradio/issues/36

I will now check if Gradio plays the .m3u8 URLs. Just a minute.

[Bug 1633826] Re: nautilus desktop crashes when called with --no-desktop

2016-11-02 Thread Fork
Updated.

Which log? The command line output is in the description, the backtrace
is in comment #4. nautilus doesn't appear to write to /var/log.

** Description changed:

- When calling nautilus with the --no-desktop flag in Ubuntu 16.10, the
- existing desktop crashes with the following error:
+ When calling nautilus with the --no-desktop flag in Ubuntu 16.10 while
+ it is already running, the existing desktop stops responding. All icons
+ disappear, and the desktop doesn't react to mouse input.
+
+ nautilus throws the following error:

  (nautilus:3723): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **:
  g_dbus_interface_skeleton_unexport: assertion
  'interface_->priv->connections != NULL' failed

  (nautilus:3723): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **:
  g_dbus_interface_skeleton_unexport: assertion
  'interface_->priv->connections != NULL' failed

This is relevant since e.g. the Dropbox indicator calls nautilus this
way, resulting in the desktop crashing.

Re: [Bug 1608485] Re: Some (radio)streams are not played

2016-11-02 Thread moma
Hello,
I am now running Ubuntu 16.10 and the m3u8-streams work fine.

The playlist URL work both in Totem (Add Web Video) or by clicking on the
.m3u8 file from file manager. So all is good in Ubuntu 16.10.

One thing that could be improved in the Totem player:
The ^Add Web Video^ menu in Totem does not play the stream directly. One
have to click the dummy square once again.
Then it starts playing. An ordinary newbie may get confused.

Info:
$ apt-cache policy libgstreamer1.0-0

the bug description is confusing then, could you update it? also could
you quit nautilus, start it again, get the bug and copy the log?

[Bug 1633826] Re: nautilus desktop crashes when called with --no-desktop

2016-11-02 Thread Fork
Note that nautilus in its entirety does not crash. nautilus windows will
function normally.

However, the desktop becomes nonfunctional (all icons disappear and the
desktop does not respond to the mouse).

[Bug 1638245] Re: Files in the root of a folder on another partition symlinked to user's home cannot be moved to trash because of a patch in this package

2016-11-02 Thread Sadi Yumuşak
UPDATE:
1) The symlink can be created on the desktop as well (as long as it sits
directly/really in the same partition as user home and not in another partition)
2) The symlink doesn't have to be pointing to a directory in the root of the
other partition (on the internal HDD), it can be any directory or subdirectory
in that partition; files in that target directory cannot be moved to trash
while any of its subdirectories and/or subdirectory contents can...

I hope all this helps, otherwise I will be available this whole
afternoon and evening (GMT+3) to further help reproduce it ( in realtime
;-)

[Bug 1614050] Re: Window depth order messed up

2016-11-02 Thread Cui Wei
If I use metacity with composite-manager disabled, mouse pointer mapping
to object position messed up sometimes. For example, if I open a dialog,
and I wanna click a button from that dialog, sometimes it's useless no
matter how many times I clicked on it, the button seems not to be even
pressed down. It is likely that I am clicking on another position
because the OS is not busy and other programs work smoothly. After I
restart metacity, it is not restarted successfully but fall back to
login session which indicate my window manager crash down. I am sure
this issue happened several months ago and it is another bug from
metacity with composite-manager disabled, not related to
metacity/+bug/1614050.

[Bug 1629360] Re: nautilus hides behind desktop

2016-11-02 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!
