[Bug 1637959] Re: Gnome Character Map (gucharmap) displays characters white-on-white when global dark theme is on

2017-03-20 Thread Jeremy Bicha
The issue you described was worked around for Adwaita by forcing the
dark mode off. The workaround was removed in the new version of
gucharmap available in Ubuntu 17.04 Beta because the underlying Adwaita
issue was fixed in gtk 3.22. Ubuntu 16.04 LTS uses gtk 3.18.

I'm closing this bug since this appears to be triggered by using a theme
that is not packaged in Ubuntu so it can't be fixed by Ubuntu
developers.

Please report this problem to your theme's developers.

[Bug 1385572] Re: gnome-session not shutting down cleanly

2017-03-20 Thread Justo
Hi, I run gnome 16.04 on a lenovo yoga 910 and I still get the disabled
extensions after reboot and after wake from suspend. I employed this
workaround "https://scognito.wordpress.com/2014/11/30/fix-gnome-
shell-3-12-extensions-being-disabled-at-every-startup/", but the bug is
not fixed. So far, the workaround works. Will try to disable and re-
enable via gnome-tweak-tool in comment #20 and see if it solves it
(without the workaround).

Thanks!

[Bug 1674477] [NEW] gnome screenshot gtk-mir crashes on taking the shot

2017-03-20 Thread kevin gunn
Public bug reported:

Tried this with (updated) Zesty plus ppa:attente/gtk-mir-staging
then export GDK_BACKEND=mir
launch from command line: gnome-screenshot --
--desktop_file_hint=org.gnome.Screenshot.desktop

Attempt to take a screen shot in any form and it will crash (see
attached log)

according to attente:
gnome-screenshot crashes is because it delegates the screenshotting to
org.gnome.Shell, and falls back to using x11 if that fails
so i think the solution is to have u8 implement that interface...

[Bug 1525285] Re: Unity8 deadlock when trying to screenshot without a current gst registry

2017-03-20 Thread Michał Sawicz
** Summary changed:

+ Unity8 deadlock when trying to screenshot without a current gst registry

** Description changed:

  https://errors.ubuntu.com/problem/811233d22c3b1dcb08f9f596e5dbf9d0e23e4220

- Anything that wants to update the gstreamer registry outside of a X11
- session, when the clutter plugin is present, will deadlock.
+ Inspecting gst-clutter causes it to try and connect to the display
+ server. When it's unity8 that triggered the registry update, registry
+ generation blocks while gst-clutter tries to connect back to unity8.
+ That results in a deadlock, because we're unable to answer the
+ authorization challenge because we're blocked by the registry
+ generation.
+
+ This is a bug in either gst-clutter or libclutter (filed upstream), but
+ we should try and make sure that we don't block on this either.

  To reproduce:
- - log in on vt (with no graphical session)
+ - log in to unity8
  - rm ~/.cache/gstreamer-1.0/registry.x86_64.bin
- - gst-inspect-1.0
- - behold
+ - press PrtScr to get a screenshot
+ - deadlock

Not sure why it builds in Debian but not Ubuntu. If you need a quick
fix, adding a build-dependency on libsha-ocaml-dev should cause it to
use that instead of openssl (the build log says "sha (ocaml-sha) not
found; using OpenSSL instead").
