According to the journal errors, your computer is running GDM under X. The default is for GDM to use Wayland. Re: [Bug 1672424] Re: Cannot install Debian files outside of the repositories
Thats good info! Could this be fixed in by changing how gnome-software is invoked during local installs or would it need to be done within the program itself? Its not uncommon for a software (especially one run with root permissions) to need a full system path. It would also explain why the "~/" doesn't work as it is a built in alias for /home/$username <---which changes once the software starts. I just used a bzr packaging only branch and ran 'bzr diff' to produce the diffs I posted. Grab the tarball of the debian/ directory and extract it. bzr init echo -e '[BUILDDEB]\nmerge = True' > .bzr-builddeb/default.conf bzr add bzr commit -m "Existing packaging' Apply the diff You can then build with 'bzr bd' or you can look around the upstream sources and use quilt with 'bzr bd-do' (and then 'exit' when you're done with 'bzr bd-do'). Either 'bzr bd' or 'bzr bd-do'will automatically download the upstream tarball for you. In my ~/.bazaar/builddeb.conf, I have this: [BUILDDEB] builder = sbuild -d zesty My workflow is derived from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopTeam/Bzr git-buildpackage should also work except that I normally don't normally use a packaging-only workflow there. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to epiphany-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1661805 Title: Saved passwords for HTTPS sites can be accessed by HTTP sites To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/epiphany-browser/+bug/1661805/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1675445] Re: Cannot login to install snaps
I also tested this on a VM and was able to successfully authenticate to U1 and install the snap. I also got a apport crash on snapd-login- service which I will raise as a separate bug. But yeah, I can't reproduce this bug here. ** Changed in: gnome-software (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-software in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1675445 Title: Cannot login to install snaps To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1675445/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1672144] Re: ifup service of network device stay active after driver stop
It works on linux 4.11-rc3. After kernel bisect, this commit fixes the issue: commit 91864f5852f9996210fad400cf70fb85af091243 Author: Andrey VaginDate: Sun Mar 12 21:36:18 2017 -0700 net: use net->count to check whether a netns is alive or not The previous idea was to check whether a net namespace is in net_exit_list or not. It doesn't work, because net->exit_list is used in __register_pernet_operations and __unregister_pernet_operations where all namespaces are added to a temporary list to make cleanup in a error case, so list_empty(>exit_list) always returns false. Reported-by: Mantas Mikulėnas Fixes: 002d8a1a6c11 ("net: skip genenerating uevents for network namespaces that are exiting") Signed-off-by: Andrei Vagin Signed-off-by: David S. Miller And it's also included in 4.10.5 stable tree, so it'll land to 17.04's linux kernel soon. You can try 4.10.5 mainline kernel at here: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.10.5/ ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** No longer affects: systemd (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1672144 Title: ifup service of network device stay active after driver stop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1672144/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1667992] Re: ctrl-c sometimes causes wayland session to exit
Ubuntu 16.10: gnome-session 3.20.4-0ubuntu2; Gnome on Wayland; nvidia 375.39-0ubuntu0.16.10.1. Same thing here. Logs don't seem to show anything, either. It's completely random but seems to do it early (once I've first started the computer) and then doesn't do it again the rest of the day. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1667992 Title: ctrl-c sometimes causes wayland session to exit To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/1667992/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1661805] Re: Saved passwords for HTTPS sites can be accessed by HTTP sites
Hello Jeremy, I had trouble building these packages locally before uploading. I downloaded new tarballs from https://download.gnome.org/sources/epiphany/ and renamed them as needed, applied your debdiffs, and got the following errors when trying to build: dpkg-source: info: using source format '3.0 (quilt)' dpkg-source: info: building epiphany-browser using existing ./epiphany-browser_3.18.11.orig.tar.xz dpkg-source: info: local changes detected, the modified files are: epiphany-browser-3.18.11/ChangeLog epiphany-browser-3.18.11/NEWS epiphany-browser-3.18.11/configure epiphany-browser-3.18.11/configure.ac epiphany-browser-3.18.11/embed/web-extension/ephy-web-extension.c epiphany-browser-3.18.11/lib/ephy-file-helpers.c epiphany-browser-3.18.11/lib/ephy-file-helpers.h epiphany-browser-3.18.11/lib/ephy-form-auth-data.c epiphany-browser-3.18.11/lib/ephy-profile-migrator.c epiphany-browser-3.18.11/lib/ephy-profile-utils.c epiphany-browser-3.18.11/lib/ephy-profile-utils.h epiphany-browser-3.18.11/lib/ephy-uri-helpers.c epiphany-browser-3.18.11/lib/ephy-uri-helpers.h epiphany-browser-3.18.11/lib/ephy-web-app-utils.c epiphany-browser-3.18.11/src/ephy-shell-search-provider-generated.c epiphany-browser-3.18.11/src/ephy-shell-search-provider-generated.h epiphany-browser-3.18.11/src/ephy-window.c epiphany-browser-3.18.11/src/passwords-dialog.c dpkg-source: error: aborting due to unexpected upstream changes, see /tmp/epiphany-browser_3.18.11-0ubuntu1.diff.HHjmVM dpkg-source: info: you can integrate the local changes with dpkg-source --commit dpkg-buildpackage: error: dpkg-source -b epiphany-browser-3.18.11 gave error exit status 2 debuild: fatal error at line 1376: dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -d -us -uc -S -sa failed Could not spawn schroot. Result is: None. Any advice appreciated. Also, could you paste in the sha256 sums from the tarballs that you used?
