[Bug 1683268] Re: Evince/Okular displays incorrect characters (Regression?)
** Description changed: See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/poppler/+bug/518236 There seems to be a regression bug exactly as described in the linked bug report, in the currently fully patched ubuntu 16.04. I found this problem recently with a pdf prepared by origin on windows. The file contains mu characters. I came accross this bug report, and the datasheet posted by the OP, on page 6, lower right, shows missing - characters in Okular 0.24.2 with PDF Backend 0.6.5. (I am attaching no + characters in Okular 0.24.2 with PDF Backend 0.6.5. (I am attaching two images, one by okular and one by Firefox). Evince also renders wrongly. libpoppler is 0.41.0-0ubuntu1.1. [Bug 1573408] Re: GNOME Software does not install third-party .deb packages
Possibly same bug: Upgraded from 14.04LTS to 16.04LTS. Had to remove ROS and disable third- party repositories. After the upgrade, the Ubuntu Software application showed the third- party repositories as disabled. Re-enabled them. The Ubuntu Software store would not show ROS or KiCAD from third party repositories, although it would show "Kicad Snap" from Canonical's store. The repositories used are http://ppa.launchpad.net/js-reynaud/kicad-4/ubuntu http://packages.ros.org/ros/ubuntu They repositories are validly added; doing sudo apt install kicad installed KiCAD OK. So it's just the GUI program that's broken. It just shows Canonical stuff. Even with kicad installed and working, it doesn't show up in the Installed tab. (Or is there now some secret hidden checkbox or option you have to enable for third-party packages to work right?) ** Attachment added: "Screenshot of Ubuntu Software repository list" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1573408/+attachment/4863777/+files/ubuntubug1.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-software in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573408 Title: GNOME Software does not install third-party .deb packages To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-software/+bug/1573408/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1683293] [NEW] fails to show processes tab after upgrade to 17.04
Public bug reported: When monitor starts, it shows Resources tab by default. Clicking on Processes tab does nothing, only this error message is produced. [Bug 1681523] Re: [Launcher] missing right click options
I raised this problem at https://askubuntu.com/q/904680/475088 For a temporary workaround, which at least gives you back the "New Terminal" context menu item: File "/usr/share/applications/gnome-terminal.desktop" includes line: OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Unity7; In 16.04 that line was: OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Unity; I changed line to remove the "7" (and remove locked icon and re-lock on Launcher) I now get "New Terminal" again on right-click. However, there is something odd, because although I can open a new terminal now from that icon, it launches a single new icon for the new terminal and that one does not offer "New Terminal". -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1681523 Title: [Launcher] missing right click options To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1681523/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 518236] Re: Evince/Okular displays incorrect characters
There seems to be a regression bug exactly as described in the currently fully patched ubuntu 16.04. I found this problem recently with a pdf prepared by origin on windows. The file contains mu characters. I came accross this bug report, and the datasheet posted by the OP, on page 6, lower right, shows missing characters in Okular 0.24.2 with PDF Backend 0.6.5. (I am attaching no images, one by okular and one by Firefox). Evince also renders wrongly. libpoppler is 0.41.0-0ubuntu1.1. ** Attachment added: "Correctly rendered in Firefox" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/poppler/+bug/518236/+attachment/4863407/+files/renderFirefox.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to poppler in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/518236 Title: Evince/Okular displays incorrect characters To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/poppler/+bug/518236/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
