[Bug 1664818] Re: Not possible to render pre-up, pre-down, post-up, or post-down snippets

The `ifmonitor` script > will monitor the link status of ens1, and then take appropriate actions, > such as restarting a DHCP client, adding or removing routes that have > been programmed via the lan0 bridge to egress on ens1, adding or > removing IP addresses from the configuration, etc. Knowing the status of the physical link so that you can take appropriate action on the bridge/bond makes sense. But it seems to me that should be handled intrinsically by networkd, not something you could or should configure with scripts. Opening a task on systemd for us to verify the behavior here. When all the physical links in a bridge/bond drop, does networkd treat that as a down / subsequent up event? When you say "egress on ens1", what do you mean? Your network config doesn't show any such routes. Why would these routes be managed externally to networkd? > In the ifupdown world, the other horrible hack I've sometimes found > necessary (although the reason why is eluding me at the moment) is when > I want an interface to be 'manual', yet behave like a 'static' > definition, in that it should configure itself automatically when it > comes online. So I might have something like: In ifupdown, I would expect to handle this as a static network without 'auto'. For netplan / networkd, this looks like it needs some further work to support, already captured in bug #1664844. ** Also affects: systemd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Milestone: None => ubuntu-17.05 ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre (cyphermox) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1664818 Title: Not possible to render pre-up, pre-down, post-up, or post-down snippets To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/netplan/+bug/1664818/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1613805] Re: [evolution/wip/webkit2] EHTMLEditorView - Restore the selection end mark correctly when processing HTML to plain text
** Description changed: [Impact] Ubuntu 16.04 evolution users sometimes send emails with ##SELECTION_END## due to a copy/paste error in the EHTMLEditorView code when converting HTML to plain text. This is fixed in newer Ubuntu releases. The fix is a from upstream: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/commits-list/2016-May/msg06756.html [Test Case] I tried to find a test case but was unable to as it doesn't seem to always happen and there is no upstream bug or steps to reproduce. The code change is obvious though. This is the broken code: if (strstr (*text, "##SELECTION_START##")) { GString *tmp; tmp = e_str_replace_string ( *text, "##SELECTION_START##", ""); g_free (*text); *text = g_string_free (tmp, FALSE); } if (strstr (*text, "##SELECTION_END##")) { GString *tmp; tmp = e_str_replace_string ( *text, "##SELECTION_START##", ""); g_free (*text); *text = g_string_free (tmp, FALSE); } Notice how if it finds ##SELECTION_END## in the text, it will not end up replacing it because it tries to replace ##SELECTION_START## instead. Contrast that to the stanza just above it that correctly searches for and replaces ##SELECTION_START##. Test case then is simply testing for no regressions: 1. send an html mail 2. respond to an html in html 3. respond to an html in plain text 4. send an email in plain text 5. respond to a plain text email in html 6. respond to a plain text email in plain text [Regression Potential] - The regression potential is considered low since the change is minimal and obviously correct. In addition I personally used the patch for months (until upgrading to 17.04) and have several users how also use it without issue. + The regression potential is considered low since the change is minimal and obviously correct. Test case then is simply testing for no regressions: 1. send an html mail 2. respond to an html in html 3. respond to an html in plain text 4. send an email in plain text 5. respond to a plain text email in html 6. respond to a plain text email in plain text [Regression Potential] The regression potential is considered low since the change is minimal and obviously correct. In addition I personally used the patch for months (until upgrading to 17.04) and have several users that also use it without issue. == Original description == From https://mail.gnome.org/archives/commits-list/2016-May/msg06756.html: "EHTMLEditorView - Restore the selection end mark correctly when processing HTML to plain text Otherwise the ##SELECTON_END## string could be left in the output." - I sometimes see this from people on xenial. Patch is in the commit list + I sometimes see this from people on xenial. Patch in the commit list needs a light backport. [Bug 1672424] Re: Cannot install Debian files outside of the repositories

[Bug 1244548] Re: Keyboard shortcut for changing keyboard layout does not work on lock and login screen
I don't see it needed for the login screen and it's not working for the gnome-screensaver unlock screen. Using Ubuntu 17.04 here, but I have seen the same on LTS 16.04 and 14.04. I know it's specific to gnome-screensaver since this is not happening in a Unity session, only Gnome. Whether the indicator on the right of the password box says en or he (in my case, Hebrew) the language is always the last language that was selected at the time the screen locked. no alt-shift keyboard combos nor clicking on the indicator helps (the indicator changes, but the keyboard doesn't. in Hebrew it's clear to see, I have the cursor aligned to the right). the only solution if my screen accidentally locks on Hebrew is to ctrl-alt-F1, login and kill gnome-screensaver, switch back to X (only now the screen blanks after 10 seconds of inactivity until I run the gnome-screensaver again). In short, as much as I love gnome, I'm forced to tweak Unity to be more usable because of this little annoyance, and Unity will soon be taken out of Ubuntu. isn't this about time it got fixed? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1244548 Title: Keyboard shortcut for changing keyboard layout does not work on lock and login screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-screensaver/+bug/1244548/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Sorry, I should have been more constructive with my comment. The workaround in #10 seems to partially work.
