[Bug 1731296] Re: GNOME Software app not shown as "Ubuntu Software" in Unity 17.10
I like proposal #1. Ubuntu-software is not unity specific but rather Ubuntu specific. Other desktop-shell may want to use that Ubuntu branding. If they want that they only need to provide a override in /usr/share//applications/ & install ubuntu-software. But only if they want. So we can dismiss #2 as it would be over-patching things. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-software in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1731296 Title: GNOME Software app not shown as "Ubuntu Software" in Unity 17.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1731296/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1733136] [NEW] gnome-shell no longer offers wayland session in Ubuntu 18.04
Public bug reported: I upgraded to 18.04 and I no longer get an option to run a wayland session (17.10 offered both the default ubuntu wayland session and xorg on this laptop). The upgrade did force me to remove bumblebee and nvidia, but afterwards I manually reinstalled bumblebee and nvidia-387 and reset to using intel via prime-select (installing nvidia changes some of the symlinks so that gnome-shell no longer boots, but "sudo prime-select intel" fixes this). The nvidia-387 modules are blacklisted in /etc/modprobe.d, and bumblebee isn't reporting any errors - bbswitch reports that the nvidia card is off, so I don't think it's an issue with hybrid graphics. (primusrun does work, as well.) Attached are the mutter logs that I generated via the environment variables mentioned in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1724583 comment #20. [Bug 1733127] [NEW] Session crashes when monitor is disconnected
Public bug reported: The user session crashes when I disconnect the DVI cable from my computer (which I do to connect another monitor instead). A similar problem is described in two recent questions on AskUbuntu: https://askubuntu.com/questions/969376/how-to-keep-graphical-session- running-in-17-10-when-external-screen-is-turned-of https://askubuntu.com/questions/969510/ubuntu-17-10-logs-out-when- monitor-is-detached I could not find a related bug report to subscribe to so here I am. I would except the session to be available as if nothing had happened when I reconnect the screen, or at most that the session is locked (but still running). [Bug 1733103] [NEW] DNS hostname resolution fails intermittently
Public bug reported: Since upgrading to 17.10, hostname resolution (via, e.g., Firefox or the "host" command-line tool) does not work reliably anymore. Once hostname resolution fails (Firefox 57: "Hmm. [Bug 1728449] Re: Indicator icons do not appear after upgrade to Ubuntu 17.10
Marco - If you are referring to my comments, I freely admit my linux knowledge is very limited. As a client upgrading from 17.04 I do not, and seemingly have no way of knowing, what a valid configuration is in this respect. I'm not using Unity any more, and am using Ubuntu (Xorg) rather than the explicit GNOME login. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1728449 Title: Indicator icons do not appear after upgrade to Ubuntu 17.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1728449/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1732991] [NEW] I can't use mouse buttons to navigate Ubuntu Desktop Guide
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Extra mouse buttons work elsewhere in the system, e.g., in Nautilus and Firefox, but not in the Desktop Guide.
