If you'd like to keep this bug about the gdm3 case then we'll need some
log file(s) (or screenshots?) of the problem being reported against

Yes, I am assuming "hangs" means that the user interface is hung, but
not the internals of the system. So that's why the instructions in
comment #15 require a second machine and for you to be logged in from
that already before reproducing the graphical hang.

[Bug 1741114] [NEW] [Launcher API] Progress bar / count stops responding after small progress changes

2018-01-03 Thread kotelnik
Public bug reported:

I've made an extension for Firefox that makes use of Unity Laucher API
and that way integrates with Ubuntu Dock. The interesting part for this
extension is a python3 script. I'm attaching a simple one here to
demonstrate the issue.

The attached script makes a change to "progress" every second - adds
0.01. Progress bar and counter is created first and a few progress
changes are reflected but after a short time the visual updating stops.
But as you can see from generated launcher_api_test.log the updating
should continue.

If you play with line 33 (progress_addition) and set it to a bigger
number (e.g. 0.1) it works fine till the end of the test.

** Affects: gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1716203] Re: Backport packages for 16.04.4 HWE stack

2018-01-03 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
Hello Timo, or anyone else affected,

Accepted vulkan into xenial-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vulkan/1.0.61.1+dfsg1-1ubuntu1~16.04.1
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed.Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-xenial to verification-done-xenial. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-xenial. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1741047] [NEW] Steam cannot be uninstalled using Ubuntu Software

2018-01-03 Thread AsciiWolf
Public bug reported:

If you try to uninstall Steam using Ubuntu Software, only the steam-
installer metapackage is removed, not the actual steam package. This
issue is caused by GNOME Software that unfortunately does not support
uninstallation of unneeded dependencies. It would be great if this issue
could be somehow workarounded.
