[Bug 1730174] Re: [artful] Mouse broken after upgrade from 17.04 to 17.10
I could narrow this bug with a 100% certitude (and confirm it also on Manjaro Linux on the same machine) with using the NVidia 304 proprietary driver. My machine has a NVidia C77 [GeForce 8200] (rev a2) which is unsupported with latest NVidia 340 drivers (the system justs freezes). It used to work perrfectly using NVidia 304 "legacy" driver until upgrading to Ubuntu 17.10, but something must have recently changed in the way Gnome or Xorg handles the mouse and the legacy NVidia driver has probably not been updated, alas. THe bug does *NOT* exist when using the "nouveau" driver. Unfortunately, its doesn't perform as well as the proprietray NVidia did... But at least the mouse works again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1730174 Title: [artful] Mouse broken after upgrade from 17.04 to 17.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1730174/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1743058] Re: In multiple apps, the input field "jumps"
As far as I can tell, this is either an 'st' (Shell Toolkit in gnome- shell, also used on the login screen) bug, or an issue with our theming which is patched into gnome-shell. [Bug 1721428] Re: Artful (17.10) Session logout after screen turned off
Actually logout can occur without any cable manipulation or turning on/off external monitor. Few times it already happened to me with just lock screen activated. No standby, no hibernate. After I came back, I expected a screen to enter password for unlock, but login screen appear... Means session was logged out and all work lost... No restart was made concerning uptime result... My config: Lenovo P50, noveau driver for nvidia, Ubuntu17.10, everything updated to most recent versions -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1721428 Title: Artful (17.10) Session logout after screen turned off To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1721428/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1721428] Re: Artful (17.10) Session logout after screen turned off
I can confirm this as well when using Ubuntu 17.10. I'm on a desktop (Shuttle XPC DH110SE) with Skylake processor and Intel graphics with latest updates. Didn't have any problems on 17.04, don't have problems when using Gnome on logon. What I can add: I have no extension enabled - at least none of the ones displayed in Gnome Tweaks' "Extensions" tab. And it seemed to force log-off when a HDMI cable was plugged into my PC, but was not connected to a display. The actual connection to the display is done via DisplayPort. So the dead-end HDMI cable could cause trouble? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1721428 Title: Artful (17.10) Session logout after screen turned off To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1721428/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1743244] [NEW] Keyboard autorepeat does not work after latest update
Public bug reported: After latest update, keyboard autorepeat has stopped working. I can confirm that the problem is related to the peaq-wmi module having been recently whitelisted as using modprobe to remove peaq-wmi fixes the problem. Workaround: Blacklist the peaq-wmi module I really think the peaq-wmi module should be re-blacklised by default until the bugs can be worked out.
