[Bug 1743732] Re: Gnome shell crashes at lock screen

2018-01-17 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Your attach logs also show a segfault:

jan 17 07:12:01 hostname gnome-session-binary[1308]: WARNING:
Application 'org.gnome.Shell.desktop' killed by signal 11

However to work on this bug we will need to know at least the stack
trace of the crash. Please look in /var/crash for relevant crash files
and then:

1. Change this bug from Public to Private(!)
2. Attach the crash file(s) from gnome-shell here.

[Bug 1743183] Re: Mouse left button not being noticed when clicked under Wayland - works under x11

2018-01-17 Thread Mark Rogers
More info:

The issue is both at the login screen and within the wayland desktop.
Left mouse clicks on any part of the interface are not recognised, even
though I can move the mouse.

bug 1181666 sounds familiar however logouts/reboots do not reset the
mouse. It is as if the default starting setting for the mouse have
somehow disable left mouse clicks.

If from the login screen I select the X11 graphics subsystem then the
mouse works as expected.

The other thing is that the mouse was working normally under wayland in
17.10 up until I reported the bug - so something changed, and Im
guessing that change was in the low level mouse settings for wayland.

Hope that helps a little more.

BTW the files uploaded were generated under the X11 session, not the
wayland session.

Please let me know what you need me to do to generate any other
log/config file info you need.

Cheers

[Bug 934291] Re: Deleting or stopping print jobs does not work

2018-01-17 Thread Didier Raboud
@ken-vandine: I'd not name the system user 'lpadmin' but rather 'cups-
pk-helper', which is more precise, especially as its creation/deletion
is handled by the cups-pk-helper maintainer scripts.

Other than that, it looks like a good solution.

That said, only the cups-pk-helper maintainer in Debian (Guido Günther,
see https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/cups-pk-helper) can have a definitive
opinion there.

Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a

2018-01-17 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
@Alan, current theory is that only security-updates are installed on
these systems. They are installed via unattended-upgrades and something
(likely an appstreamcli crash (bug 1711986) is preventing the
installation of regular updates.

To reproduce this issue (well, rather bug 1659856 which is similar but
it's been marked as invalid)

1. Install 16.04
2. Run unattended-upgrades
3. Reboot
4. Start gnome-software, close it, restart it.

[Bug 1711986] Re: /usr/bin/appstreamcli:*** Error in `appstreamcli': double free or corruption (fasttop): ADDR ***

2018-01-17 Thread Iain Lane
We have this patch in 0.9.4-1ubuntu1.

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/appstream/0.9.4-1ubuntu1

For some reason™ people aren't receiving the update - possibly because
this bug in 0.9.4 (Xenial release) makes their `apt update' crash, so
they don't see updated indices and never get the updated libappstream3
(or any other update).

[Bug 1743739] [NEW] Evolution: editing HTML-formatted email slowly leaks memory, freezes computer

memory consumption returns to normal. If I save the email as a draft, then
re-open it, memory usage is OK.
Evolution also freezes for about two-three seconds every now and then when

[Bug 1743736] [NEW] In overview, windows from all workspaces are shown for the second display

2018-01-17 Thread Mitar
Public bug reported:

I have disabled workspaces on primary display only, and I have enabled
workspaces to span displays, in tweak tool.

Now things mostly work how I expect. Windows are isolated to the
workspace they are and I can move them between displays (monitors). The
issue is if I go into an overview mode. Then, for the primary display, I
see only windows from my current workspace. But for the secondary
display, I see windows from all workspaces being shown in the overview
mode.

I would expect that only the windows from the current workspace are
shown also on the secondary display in the overview mode.
