[Bug 1296270] Re: Have to login twice after suspending

2018-02-13 Thread Yu Lou
Same issue after upgrading from Ubuntu Gnone 17.04 to Ubuntu 17.10.

First I purged gnome-screensaver, but it didn't work.

Then I went to Setting -> Privacy -> Screen Lock -> Automatic Screen
Lock and turned it off. Now the original Gnome lock screen went away and
only one lock screen is left.

[Bug 1299836] Re: Alt+mouse move doesn't drag window any more

2018-02-13 Thread Daniel van Vugt
For gnome-shell, this has worked for at least the past year. Probably
longer.

By "this" I mean selecting gnome-tweak-tool > Windows > Window Action Key = Alt
works.

The fact that Alt is not the default is a different issue. See bug
1713650 instead.

[Bug 1299836] Re: Alt+mouse move doesn't drag window any more

2018-02-13 Thread Coenraad Loubser
The Gnome project have changed some default key combinations that have
existed for 30+ years. I don't think this is acceptable. For reference,
the new key combination is Super+drag. Alt+Tab has been changed to
Alt+~. And the list goes on.

I think Ubuntu will do well to maintain the age old defaults. 100 000
users each having to spend an hour trying to figure out why their keys
don't work, and having to dig into config files to fix it, is 100 000
man hours wasted doing something really menial.

** Description changed:

+ Upstream: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/issues/47
+
  Installed Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 17.10.1

"Pointing & Clicking" presents several misbehaviors.

Pointing & Clickling can be activated normally under Accessibility tab
on Settings, but it does Not behave as expected anymore.

When it is activated, the mouse pointer does Not move at all on any
application/environment by using any of the numpad keys.

Clicking with key 5 on numpad does Not work on Nautilus or on
Toolbars/Apps menu (as well as dragging windows by title bar, or
resizing windows, by holding key 5 and dragging mouse).

Clicking also does Not work on applications such as Settings,
  Calculator, gedit.

Clicking with numpad Does work inside and Only Inside the content of
specific applications, such as Firefox, Chrome, Dropbox client, desktop
area (where desktop icons are placed).

The tests Have been done both with numlock ON and OFF.

The origin of this problem may be the integration of "Pointing & Clicking"
with Gnome.

apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected artful wayland-session

** Description changed:

- The origin of this problem may be the integration of "Pointing &
- Clicking" with Gnome.

[Bug 518056] Re: cedilla appears as accented c (ć instead of ç) when typing 'c

2018-02-13 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
@Geraldo: When seeing your comment #175, I can't help thinking of bug
#1573755. It's a subtle issue, and to check if that is what you have,
you can either enter a guest session or create a new test user.

Otherwise, one observation I have made is that Wayland (enabled by
default in Ubuntu 17.10, but won't be in Ubuntu 18.04) makes this more
difficult. So logging in to Xorg sessions is safer so far in this
respect.

[Bug 1748620] Re: PulseAudio defaults audio output to the USB microphone (Nintendo WUP-021-0)

2018-02-13 Thread Daniel van Vugt
OK, some progress... It seems that the kernel is reporting your Nintendo
USB microphone as an output device. And PulseAudio always prioritizes
recently-attached USB output devices. So PulseAudio is behaving
correctly.

If the microphone is not meant to also act as a speaker then this is a
kernel bug.
