[Bug 1770850] [NEW] Login Screen text missing
You have been subscribed to a public bug: After updating to Ubuntu 18.04 LTS the login screen shows no user names, just the user icons. In the follow up screen some letters are missing e.g. "Cancel" is written "Ca l ", see screenshots. https://www.pic-upload.de/view-35312811/ubuntu18.04.login-screen.png.html If I toggle the text settings "large texts = on/off" the texts appear. (In this dropdown menu single letters are missing, too.) So I think it might be a rendering problem. Any hints? Thanks in advance... I am not sure if this is a bug by ubuntu or by me. [Bug 1765261]
I am still seeing this or a related bug. With gnome-shell 3.28.1-3.fc28 installed, every text I type is using the english (US) keyboard layout in gdm, no matter what keyboard layout I configured. Switching the layout at runtime does not change anything. I have 3 layouts configured (de: neo, de: nodeadkeys, us). GDM always uses the last one no matter which one I configure. On any tty and within any Gnome session, keyboard layouts behave correctly, using the default de:neo keyboard layout. [Bug 1723080] Re: Caldav Issues with evolution 3.26
Hi Kirk, I found a solution. The issue seems to be an outdated version of caldav used for Synology's webdav server. Here is what I did - Expert calendar and tasks list (separately) to ics files - Deactivate caldav in the webdav server - Installed the new calendar application in my Diskstation (https://www.synology.com/en-global/dsm/feature/calendar) - Create a new calendar (not that you cannot delete the default calendar 'my calendar', which can be anoying) - Imported the calendar via web interface - Created new calendar and task list in evolution - Used evolution to import task list Somewhat cumbersome but it worked. Two positive side effects: - It was easy to implement separate calendars for 'home' and 'work' - The new calendar better integrates with my iPhone. I can now invite others to appointments from my iPhone. This option was not available with the previous solution. Hope this helps. [Bug 1770827] Re: GDM doesn’t use alternative for lock screen
the gdm greeter/login screen and the lock screen are mostly independent. The gdm greeter runs its own instance of gnome-shell running in a special gdm mode.
