[Bug 1773597] Re: USB flash drive won't mount
I booted the Dell Studio XPS machine from a USB drive loaded with Ubuntu 16.04. I inserted multiple USB drives (one holding the OS was already there) and two others. They mounted within seconds and Nautilus displayed their contents when the drive was clicked on. This did not happen in Ubuntu 18.04. A drive would not come up for 4+ minutes. And would not mount multiple USB drives. HOWEVER, something hinky did happen. When multiple drives were mounted, the USB mouse would not function. So there is something wrong with the USB subsystem in that machine. But, 16.04 definitely worked better than 18.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1773597 Title: USB flash drive won't mount To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1773597/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1781271] [NEW] Gnome shell crashing after login
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Gnome shell usually (not everytime) crashes after login. When I log in everything looks fine. Then I try to start firefox, gnome-shell crashes first time, but recovers in this first case. Second crash occurs after I try to click with mouse or press some key. This time it crashes whole X and returns to login screen. In log I can see gnome-shell segfaults in libgobject. [Bug 1762952] Re: Alternative shortcut for layout switching Alt+Shift unexpectedly set by default
@yoosofan: Several options, including CapsLock, are available to switch layout. [Bug 1762952] Re: Alternative shortcut for layout switching Alt+Shift unexpectedly set by default
Is there a reason why we cannot use CapsLock for changing layout? CapsLock is the most simplest key for changing layout when you want to work with both hand while writing a mixed text of two language. Actually CapsLock does not use to its main function because people barely write with a lot of bold words and using shift for occasionally one letter is very common, -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1762952 Title: Alternative shortcut for layout switching Alt+Shift unexpectedly set by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/console-setup/+bug/1762952/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1781091] Re: notify-send only works the first time
I installed a fresh Ubuntu on a VM, and the problem did go away. I'm sorry for misleading you. I found out that the problem goes away if I disable the third-party GSConnect extension (due to be included in the next Ubuntu, https://github.com/andyholmes/gnome-shell-extension- gsconnect) that talks to KDE Connect on my phone. Disable the extension, reboot, and the problem is gone (Alt+F2 & r doesn't work).
