[Bug 1787925] Re: gnome-shell crashed with SIGABRT in meta_bug()
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1787925 Title: gnome-shell crashed with SIGABRT in meta_bug() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1787925/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1787957] [NEW] Ubuntu 18.04 login page not shown after upgrade
You have been subscribed to a public bug: As suggested by ubuntu an upgrade was started from 16.04 to 18.04. Although it was a 32-bit upgrade and release notes tell 32-bit is not possible anymore, this upgrade succeeded. But at the restart the login page was not shown and mouse/keyboard did not work. Probably the problem was caused by the error at syslog: Aug 19 23:34:11 gert-laptop org.gnome.Shell.desktop[959]: glamor: EGL version 1.4 (DRI2): Aug 19 23:34:11 gert-laptop org.gnome.Shell.desktop[959]: Require OpenGL version 2.1 or later. Re: [Bug 1778011] Re: SRU: PRIME Power Saving mode draws too much power
Software rendering is a better bet if DKMS fails, as nouveau can cause problems when dealing with (partially?) supported GPUs. I introduced that change in bionic, but then I reverted that behaviour, also because it would cause problems to hybrid graphics. I don't think users relying on something that is broken should hold us back. If anything, the fallback would cause users to file bug reports (about graphics corruption, increased power consumption, etc.) against nvidia, where these would be really nouveau's. [Bug 1785600] Re: Natural scrolling is only applied in one direction (vertical)
@vanvugt Hmm OK, now I'm starting to doubt myself again. It might still be messed up, but when I move my fingers right, that means that content to the left of the view should move to the right, correct? And the scrollbar should move to the left? Because that's not happening, I think. I've attached a short screencast, which shows gedit with content wider than the viewport. I move my fingers to the right on the touchpad, with natural scrolling turned on. Nevertheless, content that's currently to the right of the viewport scrolls into view, i.e. to the left. Sorry if I'm getting it wrong again, I'm really confused right now :S ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => New ** Attachment added: "Screencast of me moving my fingers to the right." https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1785600/+attachment/5178004/+files/MovingMyFingersRight.webm -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1785600 Title: Natural scrolling is only applied in one direction (vertical) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1785600/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1785764] Re: Chrome/Chromium and Image Viewer distort colours if a colour profile is enabled.
I guess night mode works by applying a colour profile in much the same way as any other colour profile. So night mode would continue to experience similar problems even without a custom profile installed. Night mode IS a colour profile so it may well hit the same bug. I now think we should be focusing on fixing the affected apps, maybe just one or two broken libraries. In the meantime, keep in mind disabling colour profiles is a good workaround. ** Summary changed: - Ubuntu default colour profile distorts colours on some machines (white looks green, too dark, or under-saturated) + Chrome/Chromium and Image Viewer distort colours if a colour profile is enabled. ** Also affects: eog (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: chromium-browser (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: eog (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: chromium-browser (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1785764 Title: Chrome/Chromium and Image Viewer distort colours if a colour profile is enabled.
