[Bug 1790409] [NEW] All gnome apps text areas seem to get messy when using nemo-desktop for desktop icons
You have been subscribed to a public bug: With nemo-desktop on open gedit or gnome-system-log and it will be impossible to see any text whatsoever because the area is filled with whatever the background was and continious rerenders. I think this affect apps using a certain feature in gnome libraries so only gnome apps are affected and often the ones with white text areas. As an example of text area not affected I notice gnome-terminal seems fine. Details: I've followed https://www.linuxuprising.com/2018/07/how-to-replace-nautilus-with-nemo-file.html and use nemo-desktop as my file manager. I've used nemo in 16.04 without problems. [Bug 1786344] Re: Default IBus input method ignored in live session
Tested 0923 daily built. When booted under the "简体中文" (simplified Chinese) locale, "汉语“ (Chinese) was shown as the default input method, but still cannot input Chinese. There is no option to select "智能拼音" (ibus-libpinyin) when I clicked on 汉语。 To use 智能拼音,I needed to go to "其它“ (Others)then made the selection. This is very weird to say the least. However, I think 18.10 looks bright. When this problem is getting solved, I suggest that, as a default, we check all the dictionaries in the ibus-libpinyin "dictionary option" ("字典“)。 Many decision makers (in China at least) determine which Linux distro is better by how fast they can type. I can "fix" the issue if I add the following two lines to /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/ubuntu-browsers and reload the evince profile: /usr/bin/env rmix, /usr/bin/snap Cx -> sanitized_helper, Probably not acceptable as is because this would allow executing any snap, not just chromium. [Bug 1794064] [NEW] Clicking a hyperlink in a PDF fails to open it if the default browser is a snap
Public bug reported: This is related to bug #1792648. After fixing that one (see discussion at https://salsa.debian.org/gnome-team/evince/merge_requests/1), clicking a hyperlink in a PDF opens it correctly if the default browser is a well-known application (such as /usr/bin/firefox), but it fails to do so if the default browser is a snap (e.g. the chromium snap). This is not a recent regression, it's not working on bionic either. [Bug 1794024] [NEW] Transition from communitheme snap session to ubuntu
Public bug reported: In Bionic, we ship a communitheme snap, which shows up an additional gdm entry named "ubuntu communitheme". We want those users on Bionic -> Cosmic upgrade (and later, bionic LTS -> f LTS) to fallback to the ubuntu session to not pick the theme in the snap. However, we still want a way for people to install the communitheme session for testing latest edge. Plan is: - remove from ubuntu-session package the communitheme .desktop session files. This way, people will be fallbacked to the ubuntu session. - readd another session package, like communitheme-session, containing those .desktop files. That will be the package that people can use to use the snap theme version. ** Affects: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1794024 Title: Transition from communitheme snap session to ubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/1794024/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
