[Bug 1803807] [NEW] Lock screen doesn't work in 18.10

2018-11-16 Thread Andras Veto
Public bug reported:

Super+l needs to be pressed twice to lock the screen. Pressing the
shortcut only once results in strange behavior. Locking the screen in
general is buggy (e.g. dock is visible when screen is locked, once
screen is unlocked the dock disappears even after pressing activities).
These issues were not present in 18.04. I am on a fresh install of 18.10
with gnome.

Description:Ubuntu 18.10

3)
The lock screen should maintain the functionality present in 18.04. Pressing
the shortcut once should lock the screen, no ui elements should remain on the
locked screen, locking and unlocking the screen should not result in the dock
disappearing.
4)
The lock screen no longer works. It is possible to view and interact with ui
elements after pressing the lock shortcut. It is possible to view the dock when
the screen is locked.

My laptop is MSI GE60 0NC
CPU: Intel i5-3210M, GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M
Running Kubuntu 18.10

As in comment
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-prime/+bug/1778011/comments/13
my laptop has a led indicating if Nvidia GPU is on and according to it Nvidia
GPU does not power off when I select Intel GPU.
Also tested on Kubuntu 18.04 (without "proposed" repository), same issue.

2018-11-16 Thread Steve Beattie
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Bug 1448778] Re: Evince fails to display some fonts (some font thing failed)

2018-11-16 Thread Antoine Amarilli
I agree that this bug is super confusing: when apparmor prevents evince
from accessing a font (in my case, because of some folders in /usr/share
having been symlinked to a different partition), there is no visible
error message (except "some font thing failed" in the console log) and
the text with the affected font is silently not rendered at all.

I agree that at the very least evince should have a visible warning that
some document content was not rendered.

[Bug 1771880] Re: Seahorse unable to import pkcs12 certificates

2018-11-16 Thread Cieniek
For what I have tested this bug affects also Network Manager - can't set
certificates for WPA(2) Enterprise and/or 802.1X.

[Bug 1767445] Re: Uninstalled snaps show most recent channel version, not version to be installed by default

2018-11-16 Thread Paweł Stołowski
I've check this with Chipaca, there is no plan to change anything in
snapd wrt this bug on the following basis: (a) user can look at the
channel map to know what's in stable, and (b) store can change what's
returned outside the channel map, which snapd will forward on.

** Changed in: snapd
   Status: New => Won't Fix

[Bug 1769383] Re: Ubuntu dock/launcher is shown on the lock screen

2018-11-16 Thread pdrd
@vanvugt: You're absolutely right, but the dockManager-instance is null
because of an explicit exception in
https://git.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-
dock/tree/extension.js?h=ubuntu/bionic to disable ubuntu-dock if dash-
to-dock is installed:

let to_enable = true;
let runningExtensions = ExtensionSystem.extensionOrder;
for (let i = 0; i < runningExtensions.length; i++) {
if (runningExtensions[i] === "dash-to-d...@micxgx.gmail.com") {
to_enable = false;
}
}

So i'm not able to fix this issue in the dash-to-dock repo. May we
create a seperate bug report?

[Bug 1799430] Re: Icon dock visible on lock screen

2018-11-16 Thread Plurtu
The most common 18.10 stack trace I've seen people report is due to the
transparency setting. However anything that triggers an exception in
Dash to Dock when it is disabled on the lockscreen produces this issue
so there are many possible causes.

And the other points
ata:~$ sudo glxinfo > glxinfo.txt
Error: unable to open display

Attached you will find "allpackages.txt"

If it is not possible to recover the display and the possibility to
analyse the graphic problem according to the title (thanks for the
change) I will reinstall this linux box next week from the 18.04.1 LTS
ISO.

What kind of information from the box could be useful?
