[Bug 1790010] Re: Cursor reverts to default size and theme after login, when hovering over certain parts of the UI
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1700085 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1700085 I believe it's incorrect to mark this bug as a duplicate of bug #1700085. In fact, in bug #1700085, the user puts a lot of effort to get hidpi scaling and, even if he succeds in that, he is not able to make the cursor scale as well. So, the cursor doesn't scale at all. Concerning this bug (which affects me literally in the same way), gnome is scaling everything automatically, no action is needed and everything looks beautiful out of the box. The only (small) problem is that, immediately after login, if you move the cursor over the top or the left bars, its size go back to the default and it becomes very small. So, while the cursor is on the desktop the size is scaled properly, as soon as you move on the bars, it goes back to the default size. As soon as you click on something that triggers the cursor to switch to the "wait circle" (for instance, Firefox or any other application), some magic happens and the cursor size is scaled properly even on the top and left bars. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1790010 Title: Cursor reverts to default size and theme after login, when hovering over certain parts of the UI To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1790010/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1804251] Re: Switching to console and back crashes session
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Changed in: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Also affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1804251 Title: Switching to console and back crashes session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1804251/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Dear community In the version gvfs 1.36.1-0ubuntu1.2 this bug has been fixed. Reproduce testing: 1. connect to webdav repository in filebrowser (e.g. nemo) like that: davs://your-url.com/repo 2. select two files in file explore (e.g. odt - writer) 3. right mouse click -> open. in previous version gvfs would lock. in 1.36.1-0ubuntu1.2 both file will be opened (e.g. writer) ** Tags removed: verification-needed-bionic ** Tags added: verification-done-bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1792878 Title: gvfs lockup due to max number of connections To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1792878/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1803527] Re: ubuntu 18.10 fails to restore from suspend if no password
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: my system: ubuntu 18.10 4k monitor with 1 scale and 1.5 font scale nvidia 410 and 390 drivers are checked when happened: lock screen or suspend. return after that. if I have user password prompt enabled: everything ok if I haven't user password prompt enabled, system started with gnome crashed I expect: ubuntu to has the same behaviour either I have a password either not. What happened: in case of no password (I should just 'swipe up' or press 'space' and everything should be ready.. but) most of the times I can not return to desktop. - freezes on a screen with panels but no desktop - freezes on a purple screen that no command is working (as ctrl+alt+t) - freezes on a useless gnome panels (dash and topbar) mode solution chosen: I press ctrl+alt+F1 to change environment, I enter my password... BUT again the gnome is too slow, app icon is always on and everything is acting weird (some apps' icon that I have opened on the other session is liked pined on dash without have the option to unpin it - like I see it but it is not pinned) So, I just save what I can through the new session and just restart the pc (in new session is available - in the previous is only suspend available) frequency: about 80% of the times. If lock-screen showed up normally (and I have to press space to unlock) everything works like a charm afterwards. If not.. it will be the mess I described above hope it helps + --- + ProblemType: Bug + ApportVersion: 2.20.10-0ubuntu13.1 + Architecture: amd64 + CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME + DisplayManager: gdm3 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.10 + InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-08-28 (84 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180725) + NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia + Package: gnome-shell 3.30.1-2ubuntu1 + PackageArchitecture: amd64 + ProcEnviron: + TERM=xterm-256color + PATH=(custom, no user) + XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= + LANG=el_GR.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.18.0-11.12-generic 4.18.12 + Tags: cosmic + Uname: Linux 4.18.0-11-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to cosmic on 2018-10-19 (32 days ago) + UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo + _MarkForUpload: True ** Attachment added: "Dependencies.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1803527/+attachment/5214593/+files/Dependencies.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1803527 Title: ubuntu 18.10 fails to restore from suspend if no password To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1803527/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1778011] Re: SRU: PRIME Power Saving mode draws too much power
@Alberto: Thanks a lot for your help! There is no such setting in the BIOS of the Thinkpad X1 Extreme. I can either select discrete only or hybrid cards. I was finally able to get prime-select to switch to intel but the rate remains at like 20W which is essentially the same as using the nvidia card. I am also not able to connect to an external screen via the on-board HDMI port which is another issue I never had to deal with in a Thinkpad (usb-c to HDMI adapter does not work as well). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1778011 Title: SRU: PRIME Power Saving mode draws too much power To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1778011/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

We require that you disable gnome-shell extensions just briefly so that you have time to figure out which extension (if any) is triggering the crash. Hi. Thanks for your answer. Is there some other steps i can take to help debug? It's very hard for me to disable all extensions since i really depend on some of them to make my desktop at least usable. Thanks again. Regards.
