[Bug 1682455] Re: thunderbird not available in GNOME Software

2019-02-04 Thread hbchoong
Can I please try to understand what the next steps are, if this is being
attended to or just simply going to be ignored due to the lack of
resources or coordination at Canonical et al?

(I'm looking to understand the processes a little better...)

Thanks.

[Bug 1812527] Re: gnome-shell crashes with SIGSEGV in meta_window_actor_is_destroyed(self=NULL) called from _switchWorkspaceDone() [windowManager.js:1787] when running Android emulator (QEMU)

2019-02-04 Thread Eberhard Beilharz
Crashing here as well, and I don't have the Android emulator running.
It's happening seemingly randomly when switching between workspaces.

I tried to follow the steps from #2, but steps 1 and 2 didn't work, and
I'm not clear what workaround from bug 994921 is meant exactly.

syslog also shows a crash in libmutter-2.so.0.0.0.

file as well.

Re: [Bug 156201] Re: gedit handles opening big files badly

2019-02-04 Thread Vincent Gerris
Nano is not a gui desktop editor. Besides that vim is superior to nano in
my opinion. A viable alternative would be an open source editor like Atom,
but it can be useful to have a lightweight simple editor that doesn't blow
up with a big file and is installed by default.

[Bug 1799913] Re: Unhandled lockdown error (-2) - iphone ios 12

2019-02-04 Thread Devon Stuper
When I plug in my iPhone I automatically get a pop up on my iPhone
asking if I wish to trust my computer. I accept it and put in my pass
code. In Nautilus I get two new sections "Documents on iPhone" and
"iPhone". The section "iPhone" opens up just fine and I am able to look
at my pictures. But when I click on "Documents on iPhone" I get the
lockdown error.

In my terminal when I type in "idevicepair pair" I get "ERROR: Device
*long string of numbers and letters* returned unhandled error code -5"

[Bug 1814529] [NEW] apport-bug does nothing after choosing the "Send" option

2019-02-04 Thread ais523
Public bug reported:

After running apport-bug as, e.g., `apport-bug apport` (which I
attempted to use to file this bug), it (as expected) puts up a dialog
box specifying collected information, then shows that information with
two options, "Send" and "Don't Send". However, clicking either button
closes apport-bug with no visible further effect (and no messages on
standard output or standard error). Expected behaviour is for apport-bug
to open a page in my Web browser to allow me to file the bug.

If I revoke my computer's authorisation at https://launchpad.net/~ais523
/+oauth-tokens and then repeat the process, there's no change to the
observed behaviour (in particular, apport-bug doesn't ask for a new
one).

 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1814529] Re: apport-bug does nothing after choosing the "Send" option

2019-02-04 Thread ais523
And an attempt using apport-collect:

I ran the command `apport-collect 1814529`.

apport-collect noticed the lack of authorisation, printing the following
text (I redacted the OAuth token):

{{{
The authorization page:

should be opening in your browser. Use your browser to authorize
this program to access Launchpad on your behalf.
Waiting to hear from Launchpad about your decision...
}}}

The page in question did indeed open in my web browser. After I used
that page to authorise my computer, Apport opened the "collecting
information" and then "Send problem report to the developers?" dialog
boxes, as expected. However, when I then clicked "Send", apport-collect
exited with no visible further effect (and no messages on standard
output or standard error). Expected behaviour was to attach the
collected information to this bug report.

[Bug 1814527] [NEW] "previous" button in Evolution's in-message search box finds the next match, not the previous match

2019-02-04 Thread ais523
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:

In Evolution, open any email by double-clicking on it (so that the email
appears in a separate window). Press Ctrl-Shift-F to bring up a search
box at the bottom of the screen (allowing you to search for words in an
email). Type in a word that appears at least three times in the email,
and press Return, then start using the "Previous" and "Next" buttons
next to it.

Expected behaviour: the "Next" button jumps to the next occurrence of
that word in the email; the "Previous" button jumps to the previous
occurrence of that word in the email.

Actual behaviour: the "Next" button acts as expected, but the "Previous"
button acts identically to the "Next" button, moving to the next (rather
than previous) occurrence of that word in the email.

[Bug 1799913] Re: Unhandled lockdown error (-2) - iphone ios 12

2019-02-04 Thread Will Cooke
I have tested this on my Disco development machine, and here's what I
found.

Using an iPhone SE running IOS 12.1.2.

Connected the phone using a real cable (using my third party cable only allowed
me to charge).
Without doing anything further I open Nautilus and browsed to the phone, and
indeed I did see the error described... "unhandled lock down".

However, on the phone itself I was being asked if I wanted to "Trust this
computer". I said "Trust this computer" and was then asked to enter my PIN.
Once I had done this I was able to browse the photos as expected.

Could people reporting this problem please check that the iDevice has
been told to trust the computer and comment here?
