[Bug 1245473] Re: Binding ctrl+shift, alt+shift, etc for switching keyboard layout makes shortcuts with ctrl+shift, etc not working in any program

2019-02-09 Thread Mikhail Chabanov
! SOLUTION !

For myself I created temporary hack allowing to switch Keyboard layouts
(en<->ru) by Ctrl+Shift on key release. My method does not interfere
with other shortcuts. I use it myself on daily basis.

It's simple Python script which listen to Ctrl+Shift key combination and switch
layout on release.
It can be downloaded here

[Bug 1815316] [NEW] File download popup in browsers isn't focused on filename input despite appearing focused

2019-02-09 Thread gert7
Public bug reported:

When I download a file in a browser, the systemwide download dialog
window with the file explorer comes up. When I start typing the window
starts searching for files in the current directory instead of letting
me name the file, even though the file name text input appears focused
with an orange border around it. This has confused me every single time.

[Bug 1434830] Re: Clicking on Files bookmark doesn't open the requested folder but gives error message

2019-02-09 Thread Svilen Stefanov
I've encountered the same problem as described above on Ubuntu 18.04.
In my case, the dual-boot is Ubuntu and Windows 10 and 2 NTFS partitions for
Windows. Ubuntu is also installed in a different partition (as above).

The steps to reproduce and the workaround are exactly the same and the issue is
systematic.
Attached, you will find the error message that I am getting when trying to
access the bookmarked path to one of the NTFS partitions.

[Bug 1813511] Re: Gnome shell extensions disabled at every wakeup after sleep

2019-02-09 Thread Mauro Sassi
I didn't encountered the bug any more in the last 7 days. It could have
been fixed by some ubuntu updates (at least on my system).

[Bug 1815284] [NEW] Middle click down opens file

2019-02-09 Thread Michal Predotka
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 18.08 here.

In Ubuntu 16.04 I could middle click on a file in Nautilus then drag and
drop it to another folder. After that a small dialog appeared if I want
to copy or move the file.

Now when I press middle click on a file, the file opens immediately and
although I can move it to another folder, there's no choice if I want to
copy or move the file.

 Status: New

[Bug 1640541] Re: nautilus shows Windows Network but fails to open it

2019-02-09 Thread Marius Gedminas
Tried this again on Ubuntu 18.10, and I'm happy to report that almost
everything works fine!

- "Other locations" in Nautilus shows my Samba server (after a couple of
seconds)
- I can click on it, get an authentication dialog, then see the shares
- I can click on a share and see the files
- I can click on a file and discover that Totem is still hilariously broken on
Wayland (that's a separate bug)

However some things are still broken:

- "Other locations" in Nautilus shows a "Windows network"
- I can click it and couple of seconds later I get an error dialog saying
"Could not access location" (title): "Couldn't get a list of shares from
server: No such file or directory" (translating from lt_LT again).

gio ls network:/// prints a usage message.

gio list network:/// shows

dnssd-domain-VARLIUS2._smb._tcp
smb-root

(VARLIUS2 is the name of my Samba server)

gio list smb:/// says

gio: smb:///: Location is not a mountpoint

(I'm translating back from lt_LT because no amount of LC_ALL=C
LANGUAGE=en is giving me English error messages, at best I get ?s
instead of UTF-8 characters.)

[Bug 1797524] Re: Confusing notification

2019-02-09 Thread Michal Predotka
Hi Sebastian.
I don't remember in what circumstances that happened. I haven't noticed that
message since then.

[Bug 1815271] [NEW] Should show old package version

2019-02-09 Thread Victor Porton
Public bug reported:

When clicking a .deb file, it should also show the old version if an old
version of the package was already installed.

It should also apply to packages to be installed from repositories (not
sure if this already works).
