Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 1292398] Re: Second screen position isn't saved from one session to another
@vanvugt: not sure if #136 is directed at my comment in #135, but the _only_ way to produce the problem is to logout or reboot which naturally involves the display manager. Again, the problem goes away, for my case, simply by using a different display manager, as stated in #131. The problem is clearly related to the display manager process as it starts up the user session and is directly responsible for _causing_ the issue for me. If I use a different display manager with gnome-session(mutter), the monitor settings work correctly. To be clear: I don't care which monitor the login box widget is displayed on. I care about the monitor/display orientation _after_ I successfully login. slick-greeter = works gdm3 = not working -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1292398 Title: Second screen position isn't saved from one session to another To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/elementaryos/+bug/1292398/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1716857] Re: gdm3, hybrid nvidia with modeset=1, no external monitors detected
I'm on Ubuntu 19.04 as well and having issues with this. I have an i7-8750h paired with a gtx 1050ti in a Dell G515. I don't exactly what I did, but I can give a general idea: I decided this morning that battery life was important to me, so I tinkered around with TLP. After I did that everything seemed fine, but when I plugged an HDMI cord back into my laptop, after reenabling my discrete GPU it no longer works. I have uninstalled and reinstalled TLP, I have reinstalled gdm3, no dice, and I have tried reverting just about everything I can think of that pertains to displays. I still can't get it. Switching over to lightdm for now, this is very frustrating though. Before I was working with TLP though, I was able to connect to external displays via this HDMI cord no problem. I know it is not a hardware issue because before I log in the external display shows the image I have for my lockscreen. However, it's once I log in that the display turns off. Hope this helps. I'd love to help get gdm3 working as well. [Bug 1825766] Re: search results don't match apt search
I never liked Ubuntu trying/forcing snaps, but for 19.04 I gave up and tried to embrace it. It is very hard to know when to use gnome-software, when to use apt, when to use snap. Before snaps, I was always able to find every app via apt/aptitude, but now, this is very frustrating. IMHO, if Ubuntu is pushing snaps so hard, we need a software-tool alternative that can work with both sources. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-software in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1825766 Title: search results don't match apt search To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1825766/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1825766] Re: search results don't match apt search
You can expect to find an app in GNOME Software if it is a GUI application (== has a .desktop file in /usr/share/applications/ that isn't NoDisplay and of Type=Application). For anything else (that likely includes phpMyAdmin) GNOME Software isn't the right tool and wasn't designed for. Apps will also definitely show up if they have AppStream metainfo files of type desktop-application (so service-types are also excluded here, currently). Also it appears that on Ubuntu Snaps aren't filtered by type.

[Bug 1778322] Re: gvfs-smb-browse can't browse samba/smb tree
It worked just fine on a disco desktop default install. I brought up a bionic vm, which has samba running and set to a workgroup called "workgroup" and has a /pub share. On disco, I click on "other locations", then "windows network", and I see "WORKGROUP". I can click on "WORKGROUP", which then shows me the other server. If I click on that, I see the "pub" share. The only samba packages you need for this network browsing are installed: libsmbclient, libwbclient0, samba-libs. I have these with version 4.10.0 as expected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1778322 Title: gvfs-smb-browse can't browse samba/smb tree To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1778322/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
