[Bug 1834249] Re: Google Chrome pausing live streaming video briefly for a second or two every 5-10 seconds

2019-06-25 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Sorry, Google Chrome is not part of Ubuntu so we can't handle bug
reports for it here. However, if you install 'chromium-browser' and find
the same bug in that then we can handle it here.

Do you find the same problems with Firefox?

[Bug 1809407] Re: [nvidia] Corrupted wallpaper after resuming from suspend

2019-06-25 Thread Daniel van Vugt
The Ubuntu release process requires that we always get the fix into the
_next_ release first. That means 19.10. After that we are free to
propose it for 19.04 and earlier. I have nominated 19.10, 19.04 and
18.04 at the top of this bug.

[Bug 1833431] Re: Update gnome-settings-daemon to 3.32.1

2019-06-25 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Sebastien, or anyone else affected,

Accepted gnome-settings-daemon into disco-proposed. The package will
build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/gnome-settings-daemon/3.32.1-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the
-proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-disco to verification-done-disco. If it does not fix
the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag
to verification-failed-disco. In either case, without details of your
testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1834211] [NEW] [SRU] gconf FTBFS in Bionic

2019-06-25 Thread Vlad Orlov
Public bug reported:

[Impact]

Two issues make gconf FTBFS in Bionic:

- outdated gtk-doc.make which fails with gtk-doc-tools >= 1.26
- missing dh-python in B-D

The debdiff attached below fixes these issues and makes gconf build
properly.

[Test Case]

Just install the needed build dependencies and try to build gconf. It
will fail with an error from gtk-doc.make. Second issue: if gtk-doc.make
is patched, the build will fail if dh-python isn't installed.

[Regression Potential]

None, you can't break it more than FTBFS :)

[Other Info]

Fixes are backported from Cosmic.

[Bug 1832457] Re: [SRU] 2.60.4

2019-06-25 Thread Iain Lane
I've retried the failing tests, except why3 which I think is just busted
(not glib2.0's fault - good for a badtest?)

Have smoke tested on disco and it seems good to me. I ran the desktop
for a bit, checking the video player, text editor, image viewer and web
browser. Shell itself of course uses GLib too.

desrt might want to test the specific usecase that she had in mind for
this upload. But it seems good to me.

[Bug 1834110] Re: Broken lock-screen wallpaper, stutter after resuming from hibernation

2019-06-25 Thread Aleksandar Palic
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected disco

** Description changed:

  Very similar to Bug #1809407
  (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1809407).

I set up my swap partition and tested hibernation on 19.04 /w Nvidia
  drivers.

  Basically I observed 2 things:
  - Lock screen wallpaper gone (black screen with clock), same as with #1809407
  - Desktop wallpaper seems okay
  - Big frame rate drops (despite performance governor), everything seems quite
laggy

I'm new to Linux/Ubuntu, if you need any logs please tell me the
commands and I will attach them.

  Thanks

Re: [Bug 1021375] Re: Nautilus says the USB stick is read only when it is not

2019-06-25 Thread Sergio B
@h23 if you are seeing the same behaviour in the terminal the Nautilus is
not the problem. Your USB is write protected or your computer is picking it
up like that for some reason.

You can insert the USB Stick and then run:

dmesg | tail

To see the system log. There you can see if the write protection is turned
on. If you see something like `Write Protect is off`then you should be
okay, otherwise the USB Stick is protected.

[Bug 1834058] Re: Keyboard layout indicator vanishes after Suspend or Screenlock

2019-06-25 Thread hpp23
Uninstalling all Gnome extensions doesn't make any difference. Before
January 2019 everything worked as expected - with or without extensions.
The above described bug came up at around Jan 10 2019, and was never
fixed. The fix of bug 1812266 didn't change anything to the better.

[Bug 1021375] Re: Nautilus says the USB stick is read only when it is not

2019-06-25 Thread li
I see that many people say that killall nautilus works for them but it
doesn't change anything for me. Perhaps someone could spell out the
exact sequence of actions so that I can make sure that I am the problem?

What I am doing right now is
insert USB
try to paste something into it using nautilus (same with using terminal
though), see that it's read only.
run killall nautilus in terminal.
(restart or not, I've tried both)
nautilus window disappears.
I try to copy something onto the USB again using Nautilus
still doesn't work.

What am I doing wrong?
I am working on 16.04.6 LTS

Thanks!
