[Bug 1792167] Re: Display size detected incorrectly
To be absolutely sure you would need to: 1. Convert the display's EDID into binary from hex: 00004c2d09050100 30120103801009780aee91a3544c9926 0f5054bdef80714f8100814081809500 950fb3000101023a801871382d40582c 4500a05a001e662150b051001b30 40703600a05a001e00fd0018 4b1a5117000a20202020202000fc 0053414d53554e470a2020202020016f 020327f14b901f041305140312202122 230907078301e2000fe305030167 030c001000b82d011d007251d01e206e 285500a05a001e011d00bc52d01e 20b8285540a05a001e011d801871 1c1620582c2500a05a009e011d80 d0721c1620102c2580a05a009e00 001d 2. Use an EDID decoding tool to verify it yourself. Some are available in the Ubuntu archive, but also you can google for online EDID decoders. ** No longer affects: xrandr (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1792167 Title: Display size detected incorrectly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1792167/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Wait now... So if you reset the gnome-control-center dconf settings, it works and keeps working again? [Bug 1846000] [NEW] battery level percentage different with and without power connected to laptop
Public bug reported: Hardware: Lenovo T590 OS: 19.10 I have the battery percentage displayed next to the battery icon in the top bar (Tweaks -> Top Bar -> Battery Percentage). When the power cord is connected, it says 100%. However, if I unplug the power cord, the percentage drops down to 94% immediately. Plug in the power cord again, and it's back to 100%. If I let the battery discharge a bit so the unplugged state shows 91%, then plug in the power cable, it says 100% briefly before updating to be 91%. Let it charge for a few minutes so with the power connected it says 92%, then unplug the power and it says 93%. The percentage displayed when the power is connected vs when the power is not connected is not consistent with each other like it should be. [Bug 1162475] Re: [hostnamed] Changing hostname doesn't update /etc/hosts
Hi apologies if this is the wrong thread. Just wanted to report I see this issue on the Raspberry Pi build of Ubuntu MATE 16.04 running `mate- control-center` 1.16.1-1~xenial4.0 and `systemd` 229-4ubuntu21.22. I see resolution failures using `sudo` afterwards so even though it still works, stdout gets polluted with error messages. [Bug 1845102] Re: Video tearing in Celluloid with new Yaru theme
@vanvugt You're right, it's not the theme. I spent some time investigating this: The tearing occurs while using GNOME-MPV or Celluloid. It's Z-shaped, and constant. It occurs after a slight flicker 5-10 seconds into playing any video. (And doesn't appear in screen captured videos, it sounds like a graphics glitch). If I use GNOME-MPV and disable client side decorations, or use VLC or any other media player (besides Chromium), there's a noticeable flicker- stutter if I change the volume (when the OSD pops up and disappears). During this time, the desktop icons appear for a fraction of a second, then disappear. This problem doesn't occur in Arch/vanilla GNOME, but it does occur in 19.04 if I turn on the Adwaita theme (both the Z-shaped tearing and the flicker OSD problem). I figure that the old Yaru theme was masking this mutter issue somehow. There's probably an extension or some config file causing the desktop to show up for a fraction of a second then disappear. Turning off all of the extensions (desktop icons, dash to dock etc.) doesn't help the situation. Removing them from /usr/share/gnome-shell doesn't work either. I've tested this on three separate computers, they all show the glitch (one was 19.04 with Adwaita enabled, the other two were 19.10 without any tweaking enabled). This doesn't occur on Wayland though, could it be an xorg configuration issue? I'm really sorry I'm harping on this so much but I prefer X because I can play video games there :D -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1845102 Title: Video tearing in Celluloid with new Yaru theme To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1845102/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. [Bug 1845801] [NEW] Trying to log in just takes me back to the login screen. Killing gnome-session-binary fixes it.
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I just updated to the Ubuntu 19.10 beta. After boot, I'm shown the GDM login screen (which I shouldn't; I have auto login enabled), and logging in just takes me back to the same user selection screen even though the password is correct. If I switch to a TTY and run `sudo pkill gnome-session-binary`, logging in through GDM starts working again. I should add that the do-release-upgrade was rocky; I did it in a terminal from within gnome, went away for a while, and when I returned, I just saw an Ubuntu 19.10 in a TTY. I was able to do `sudo dpkg --configure -a` and complete the upgrade, but I don't know if something's still messed up due to that.
