[Bug 1844775] Re: HDR support for Ubuntu 20.04
Note that "HDR" and deep colour (any colour depth higher than 8-bit) are two different things. It sounds like some of the above links refer to deep colour support and others refer to HDR. We should clarify which this bug is about (or that it really is about both disparate issues). For regular desktop usage I think deep colour support is more important (and should come first), as first mentioned in bug 1293950. ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1844775 Title: HDR support for Ubuntu 20.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ffmpeg/+bug/1844775/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1846288] [NEW] 5G connectivity on Intel AC9260 gradually diminishes during usage
Public bug reported: Intel AC9260 will connect to 5G WiFi without issue. However, after a few minutes of use, the connection will slow to a crawl and eventually time out until manually switched to a traditional WiFi. Other devices on the same 5G network do not experience this behavior. This behavior does not occur under 18.04LTS. [Bug 1846252] Re: gnome-shell segfault
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => gnome-shell (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags added: nvidia -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1846252 Title: gnome-shell segfault To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1846252/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

You have been subscribed to a public bug: Description:Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS Release:18.04 gnome-shell: Installed: 3.28.4-0ubuntu18.04.1 At totally random times the screen will lock up, right in the middle use. Everything is still there, and the mouse moves fine, just nothing responds. Switching to a txt terminal I can see that gnome-shell has segfaulted. dmesg -T | tail -50 Once or twice I was able to get back by doing gnome-shell --replace & in that txt terminal. It complains about wrong session type, but alt-F2 goes back to the desktop and all was well. Except, weirdly, all terminal sessions were gone. Chromium, Slack etc were all still running fine, just terminal was gone. That's happened twice. Several times though the "gnome-shell --replace" bit doesn't work. The desktop is till there, but clearly not working correctly. Mouse clicks only work on the active window/app, but won't select any other. Ctrl- tab works to switch active windows, then mouse will work in THAT window. Good enough to cleanly shut apps down, then reboot. Heh, have to reboot from a terminal - can't click the upper-right ... [Bug 1846201] [NEW] Rendering is delayed on laptop display (works in external display)
You have been subscribed to a public bug: This is a very wierd behavior I get on the Lenovo Yoga S940 after upgrading to 19.10. This makes the laptop almost unusable with its own display. This happens only on the laptop display, not on the external display. The render of portions of the screen does not happen after some events (listed below) resulting in all or part of the screen not being re-rendered. The UX is that nothing happened, but it has. This happens after: * key-stroke while typing sometimes * alt-tab * shift-right to align window to the right * ctrl-pgup/down to switch tab in multi tabs apps. Please note that: * screenshots can't see the problem * also screenrecorder always seem ok, despite rendering being broken. [Bug 1846205] [NEW] Please add configuration option to show / hide mounted drives in Ubuntu Dock
Public bug reported: Reference this forum thread: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2427998 I have upgraded from Disco to Eoan Beta and have found that the dock permanently displays and icon for my Google Account's shared files. [Bug 1846200] [NEW] Rendering is delayed on laptop display (works in external display)
Public bug reported: This is a very wierd behavior I get on the Lenovo Yoga S940 after upgrading to 19.10. Basically the rendering on the laptop display is... messy, I'll try to describe how as * screenshots always take it ok * also screenrecorder always seem ok, despite rendering being broken. What heppen is: When I alt-tab or switch tabs or align window right, the rendering does not happen completely, so the screen displays part of the old status and part of the new. If I then alt-tab again for example, or move the mouse cursor over the portions that has not rendered properly, the renders happens. This happens only on the laptop display, not on the external display. This makes the laptop almost unusable with its own display. I will need to go back to 19.04, if there's something I can do to help debug this I'd rather do. ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Tags: eoan ** Description changed: This is a very wierd behavior I get on the Lenovo Yoga S940 after upgrading to 19.10. [Bug 1840557] Re: [Dell Inspiron 7559] Battery of 66% shows full icon on 19.04
This is fixed in the latest yaru-theme 19.10.4, gnome-shell 3.34 and adwaita-icon-theme 3.34. However, yaru-theme in the Bionic snap is still on the legacy battery icons, which exhibit this bug, because the older gnome-shell 3.28 in Bionic cannot use the new battery icons. ** Changed in: yaru-theme (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released ** Summary changed: - [Dell Inspiron 7559] Battery of 66% shows full icon on 19.04 + Battery of 66% shows full icon on 19.04 ** Summary changed: - Battery of 66% shows full icon on 19.04 + Battery of 66% shows full icon -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1840557 Title: Battery of 66% shows full icon To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1840557/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1845017] Re: Desktop hard lockup in 19.10
I don't think this is related to bug 1845198 because that one affects people immediately on login. I also doubt that JavaScript error from ubuntu-dock is related. Could you by any chance force a core dump of the gnome-shell process so we can see it in full detail? I'm also concerned about your kernel. The log seems to mention several times that various kernel processes "blocked for more than 241 seconds". PPA package is also working in an eoan QEMU/KVM vm which was locking up with the standard packages. I also ran into a lockup problem on the ISO file when installing.
