[Bug 1880411] Re: Settings > Language and Region keyboard preview mislabels the compose/menu key as "Super R"
Yes the feature you want is a mutter/gnome-shell thing, but that's not a bug. [Bug 1880723] Re: gnome-shell high CPU usage on Ubuntu 20.04
> Looking at htop I can see gnome-shell takes anywhere between 5% and 50% of CPU, normally between 10% and 20%. This is a little too vague for us to be able to action right now, but I can suggest checking a few things that commonly cause high CPU for other people: 1. Uninstall all non-Ubuntu gnome-shell extensions. 2. Uninstall 'indicator-multiload' if you have it (bug 784055). 3. Try disabling 'Ubuntu AppIndicators' in gnome-shell-extension-prefs. 4. Make sure the clock in your Gnome panel at the top of the screen is NOT set to show seconds. If the problem is still not solved then please run these commands: lspci -k > lspcik.txt journalctl -b0 > journal.txt and attach the resulting text files. And if you are willing then please attach a screenshot of your desktop so we can see if it entails anything unusual I haven't yet thought of. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags added: performance -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1880723 Title: gnome-shell high CPU usage on Ubuntu 20.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1880723/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1880764] [NEW] Gnome sidebar freezes when dragging around icons while there is high memory pressure, but fails to resume when the memory pressure is down, causing icons stuck moving to remain in
Public bug reported: When I was dragging around the discord icon around, Gnome froze and the icon remained in place. This was happening when I was compiling gettext and it was using memory. However, even after the compilation stopped and the memory went down, Gnome keeps the icons in place, refusing to finish what it started. In this state, the Grid button on the bottom has no effect, and clicking on the icons have no effect, though they will update when a new program launches or closes, and if a new window opens. I expect the Gnome Shell to become responsive once the memory has gone down. It has enough memory to finish the animations; it just won't finish them. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed- bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification- failed-bionic. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance for helping! N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s) fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in -proposed for a minimum of 7 days. ** Changed in: shotwell (Ubuntu Bionic) Status: New => Fix Committed ** Tags added: verification-needed verification-needed-bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to shotwell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1875864 Title: Flickr upload authentication fails in Shotwell 0.28 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/1875864/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1880337] Re: Screen lock won't work
I am seeing this exact behavior as well. In my case, hitting Super-L will blank the screen for a half second, and when it comes back, all of my hidden windows (windows behind other windows) have been brought forward. I need to repeat this process and hit Super-L a total of four times before I see the lockscreen. Yuri, are you able to lock the desktop at all by hitting Super-L several times? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1880337 Title: Screen lock won't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1880337/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1870736] Re: [nvidia] Screen scaling 125% gives 200%
With a fresh install of Ubuntu 20.04 (downloaded ISO and installed one day after release of 20.04) fractional scaling with the Nvidia driver was working fine. It was still working fine after several updates, however, I think with the update to version 440 of the driver, fractional scaling stopped working correctly. I have configured the system to use another graphics adapter just to get the fractional scaling I need, but the performance difference is quite evident and I would prefer to use the Nvidia adapter. I am searching on the internet for ways to revert to a previous version of the Nvidia driver. If anyone has done this successfully then I would really appreciate the steps required for this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1870736 Title: [nvidia] Screen scaling 125% gives 200% To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1870736/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
