[Bug 1915681] Re: Error in freeze/thaw accounting, GNOME Shell crashed with signal 5, resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/windowManager.js:1384
There's a slight chance this bug isn't real, if: (a) The version mentioned in comment 38 of bug 1897765 is wrong; and (b) errors.ubuntu.com does not group crashes accurately beyond the first five stack frames. If both (a) and (b) are true then this bug might not be real. So I would like to see some confirmation this really truly is happening in 3.38.2 or later. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1915681 Title: Error in freeze/thaw accounting, GNOME Shell crashed with signal 5, resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/windowManager.js:1384 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1915681/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1915481] Re: gnome crashes after running `apt upgrade`
Your gnome-shell crash from January 6 is bug 1897765, which should be fixed by gnome-shell v3.38.2 in theory. There is however some evidence now that it's not fully fixed... You can ignore step 3 above. More useful for bugs like 1897765 would be to: 1. Reproduce the crash again. 2. If you can log in again then run: journalctl -b0 > journal.txt 3. If you had to reboot then log in and run: journalctl -b-1 > prevjournal.txt 4.
